“SERVICE WITH BAD ATTITUDE DID NOT FEEL WELCOME”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

This was our worst experience In HK completely the opposite to all the other good service and interactions everywhere.
We were not made welcome we felt like intruders
The place was clean retro HK 1930's really wonderful environment the staff are dressed in clean white jackets the interior is very colonial retro white tablecloths beautiful
the place is exceptionally clean
the dim sum are excellent
We were the only Europeans in the place the service was definitely racist we were not welcomed we felt like intruders others were served ahead of us I would give this place a miss
I DON'T REALLY THING THEY WOULD CARE THOUGH!!!!
YOU HAVE TO LOOK AFTER ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS MANAGEMENT BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU WILL OFFEND!!

“Bad service, good dim sum”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

The dim sum was really good, and it was helpful that we had an English menu to tell us what the dim sum actually was, apart from the fancy names on the Chinese menu.

It was a bit pricey, but the worst thing about the tea house was the service. To call it indifferent would be too kind. Otherwise, it would have been a nice taste of old Hong Kong!

“OK”
Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

The dim sum was OK and this was a good place for a snack and tea or a cold beer. We had to go to the third floor as the other rooms were "full." Service was gruff, but attentive. I wouldn't make a special trip, but you do get a "feel" for the old Hong Kong if you are in the area.

“Cheap and yummy dim sum”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

In case you are an early morning person, Luk Yu Tea House is one place to try for dim sum with their cosy old but modern-ish ambience. Opens at 6 am.

We arrived there around 10 am and there were not much dim sums left. But I tried a few that were being brought to us and it tasted great. Too bad the portions were quite big so we only manage to try 3-4 different types of dim sum.

“Lovely Dim Sum, but...”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

A friend and I visited on my last morning in HK for authentic Dim Sum and we were not disappointed...in the food...
Once we finally got past the door, it was great...that and being told to go to the first floor as the ground floor was busy, we were then sent to the second, then told to go back down (there were empty tables EVERYWHERE!), so we decided just to sit at a table...and it worked (they had no choice but to serve us at that stage)

We then indulged in what seemed like a never ending selection of the loveliest Dim Sum, and I would single out the pork buns as being fantastically light and flavoursome. We capped it all with Green Tea, but the whole experience was great as it was a wonderful old colonial tea house
