First things first. The Restaurant has moved. it is now at 2/F, Omega Plaza, 32-34A, Dundas Street, Mongkok (not so far away from its previous location). The closest MTR exit is Exit A1 of Yau Ma Tei MTR Station, which is about a 5 minutes walk away.
as you walk off of Nathan Road along Dundas Street, the flashiness of Nathan Road soon goes and you are in a fairly downmarket area, but dont worry, its quite safe. Omega Plaza is a fairly modern building and although M Garden says it's on the 2/F, if you take the stairs it seems more like the restaurant is on the 4/F. It might be worthwhile taking the time to find the lift.
The restaurant itself is bright, noisy and boisterous and the menus are all in Cantonese. however if you do not have a Cantonese speaker with you, don't worry, just point at a dish that another table is having, try picking at random or possibly someone will help you (staff or customer), but it is all good, so whatever you do, you will have a superb meal at a very reasonable price.
They have mock meats (which have a colour, flavour and texture of the real thing) made from Tofu and lots of other typical Cantonese dishes, vegetarian style. Unlike some Chinese vegetarian restaurants we were pleased to see that the dishes were not oily. We enjoyed the vegetarian hot and sour soup
This is not a fine dining restaurant. There are no table cloths here and I am not sure if they sell Western style wine, but its not a spit and sawdust place either. Get a gang together, minimum of 2, 6-8 is great and be adventurous. You won't regret it! We had dim sum (Yum Cha) on a Saturday lunch time and for 7 adults the bill was HK$630 (USD81, GBP52) which we thought was excellent value. "We" was two westerners, 1 chinese and 4 adult Eurasian children, (born and brought up in Hong Kong) whilst the oldies have all lived in Hong kong for over 30 years, so we are not tourists.
