The hotel was refurbished in the past few months, and everything still appeared fresh and clean inside. There were two entrances to the hotel, one which looked like a residental house entrance, and a few door further along the street, there was another entrance that was far more trendy with lots of blue lighting and black reflective surfaces.

The hotel was arranged within two adjoined buildings, but only one side had a lift, but even in the side without a lift (where I was staying), the staff were helpful with moving luggage in.

All of the communal areas were clean and attractively presented, and there was also a business centre with computers and other business related bits and bobs.

The room itself was clean and a resonable size. I had a double room, but the bed seemed a wee bit wider than a standard double. The bed was quite hard, but comfortable, and the (white) bed linens were flawlessly clean and totally unstained. There was also a DVD player and a LAN cable for the wired internet access.

The ensuite bathroom was an acceptable size, and complimentary shaving and dental kits were provided along with the usual shampoos etc. One thing to mention however, is that the sink is very narrow and between two walls, so if you are blessed with the gift of shoulders and/ or arms, doing anything over the sink will be difficult (ie. shaving, washing your hands etc).

Given the resonable price, I would have given the hotel a 5 star rating, however, it was very noisey at night. I was in a street facing room on the third floor, but the exterior wall onto the balcony is made of thin wood, and a lot of noise gets in. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel, so that exacerbates the noise problem (the buses run until about midnight). Luckily, I appear to either enjoy listening to buses at night, or am a heavy sleeper, so the noise was not a big issue for me, but if it might be, a set of ear plugs should be packed.

Room Tip: The street facing rooms are opposite a busy/ noisey bus stop. Not a problem during the day, but may...

My fault for booking a cheap room for Honk Kong 7's weekend but I booked the single room with "balcony" for HKD1000/night....so not really that cheap! The bed was less than 6ft long, I'm 6'2". There was a pillar about 1ft square in the middle of the room so difficult to get into/out of/walk around the room. Couldnt sit on the toilet, no room for knee's. Walls were dirty, was a walk up 6 flights of stairs off the street, no leift on that part of the hotel. Anyone could walk up off the street, no security whatsoever. Stair well was recently plastered but no-one had bothered to paint it. The view of the squalid apartment block opposite the Wan Chai road was......different. The couple banging away in the room next door at 2am was a nice touch, as was charging HKD 22 for a can of coke.

Room Tip: Dont stay here

I was initially only going to stay for the one night, so booked the double value room online. I got quite a good deal, paying 425HK$ for the night. The room has a double bed that is wedged in between two walls, so not ideal if you are tall or claustrophobic. The bathroom was a good size and the complementary toiletries are always nice.
I ended up having to stay another night but by that time i could only get the superior room. This worked out 725HK$, which is still cheaper than the 1500HK$ they will want if you book it through the hotel. The room was bigger with two single beds, although the bathroom was slighty smaller. If you think you will need to stay longer than the hotel check out at 12.00, i would book another night as it is 100HK$ every hour as a late check out fee.
The good thing about the rooms is that each room has a large flatscreen TV, complete with english TV channels and a load of movies you can watch. The staff are generally friendly, the cleaning ones always greet you warmly.
Some of the bad points: there is no lift, so you have to haul your luggage up from the first floor or down from the sventh floor, its up to you. Also if you get a room on the front of the hotel, its quite noisy with all the traffic paired with the balcony doors. I think its better to subsitute the window in a room for some peaceful sleep.
A final point is the scuffed paint i had in my double value room. I don't know why every hotel room, apartment or office in china is painted white. The dirt and scuff marks show up very easily and are often not repainted for years. I really think as a hotel this should have been touched up.
Overall a good value hotel if you can get the chepaer deals online and pretty central to everything on Hong Kong island.

I stayed at this property for four days last week in a "Lite" room and thought it was excellent and perfect for my needs. I was in Hong Kong for work and needed to go to Convention Center which was only 10 minutes walking distance away. Needed a place to crash after a long day's work and it was perfect in location and price. The room, bathroom was very clean and the in-room entertainment of movies was very good! I will highly recommend this place to anyone who is travelling alone with not too much baggage (to walk up the stairs with) and would like to be centrally located in Hong Kong! Oh yes, if you are a light sleeper do avoid the rooms near Wan Chai road!

Room Tip: If not too fussy, the "Lite" room is fine!

The location of this small place is great, you can walk around Wan Chai up to central Hong Kong area or take this cute old tram. I liked the way they furbished the rooms. They are really small, but enough for sleeping if you want to explore HK most of the time anyway.
No breakfast included and it is pretty hard to find a good place around there to get a coffee+toast.
The staff was not very helpful, we could check in online at the computer in the lobby, but were unable to get our boarding pass printed.

Very inexpensive room rate consider it is in a very convenient and centrally located place. The room is consider very small but if you only need an accommodation to have a good night rest, this is a place that can fullfil your particular need to rest after a long day sightseeing or busy activities. Of course, if you are thinking of a resort or a 5-stars hotel, this could be a wrong place.

The only downside I could think of is about the stairways. So, it will be quite a heavy haul if you have big and heavy luggages.... It is recommended to travellers not to bring anything more than 1 carry on size luggage per person.

Otherwise, this is a nice, clean and inexpensive hotel.

Mingle on the Park defines the term bedroom, its a room you can only fit a bed in. Although the rooms are tastefully appointed, the space is tiny and there is no room for a place to rest your suitcase and no hanging space. I had the misfortune of getting a room facing Wan Chai road, the bus noise is unbearable making sleep almost impossible prior to midnight and after 6 am.....around the bus schedules. I would not recommend if you wish to be rested each morning.

There is no elevator and I was on the fourth floor, this place does not have a gym, nor does it need one. The workout up the stairs, first day is harder with the suitcase, is enough to keep the heart pumping. Definitely not wheelchair friendly and even if there was a lift, you could not get a wheelchair in the room.

Room Tip: Get a room off the raod
