if you'd like to stay quiet and rest, it is the place. However, there is nothing near by and you need to eat in the hotel. Far from the center. It is not convenient to travel tot the city center and shopping areas. It is suited for older people or for people who want to stay by the pool and eat in the hotel.

The hotel is very quiet and relaxing. The MTR is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The swimming pool is heated and very clean. The steam was never steamy but the sauna was great. happy hour at the Tin Tin bar is a nice place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing or work. I would stay here again.

Stayed 4 nights – 3 adults sharing 1 room. Overall we were very disappointed with this hotel. We were expecting a relaxing stay and instead we got a lot of frustration.

BOOKING:
We booked this room through booking.com We chose it because it was one of the few 5* hotels in HK that advertised a “TRIPLE room ideal for adults” (with a choice of either 3 single beds or 1 double plus 1 single). At no point did they mention a “rollaway bed” like the other hotels did. Not sure if that was false advertisement by the hotel or booking.com.

CHECK-IN:
When we arrived to the hotel at 10.30pm and checked in they receptionist mentioned “double room plus rollaway bed”. I pointed out that we booked a TRIPLE room for adult occupancy with 1 proper double and 1 proper single bed – no rollaway beds. We were informed that the hotel does not have any triple rooms and that the 3rd adult has to sleep in a rollaway. When we complained saying that it is unacceptable to have 3 FULL PAYING adults in a double room with a rollaway the manager said that there is nothing they could do. I told him that I would expect the hotel to either get a proper bed in there or offer us a single room free of charge to make up for their mistake. He said that they had full capacity and that was not possible. However, he did then say that they were happy to “upgrade us” to a harbour view room instead of a mountain view room although there was nothing different between the rooms apart from the view. We reluctantly accepted but were then told that we have to wait for another 45minutes for the room to be ready – at this point it was already 11pm!! So we said we would take our initially booked room as we were tired and needed the rest. It is worth noting that our room rate did not include breakfast so if they wanted to compensate us for the inconvenience they could offer it for free. However, what they did instead is give us a 15% discount which is just poor service from a 5* hotel. Mind you we paid £120 per night!

ROOM:
The room was just a standard double room – definitely not a triple! The rollaway bed was child size – not suitable for an adult. My friend really struggled sleeping on it. Definitely not worth the money. Also, it was really dated and quite dirty. The carpet was heavily stained, the sofa was dusty and the fixings were scuffed. The headrest of the double bed was marked and covered in scratches. The sheets were stained. All three of us came out covered in what we suspect are flea bites. Although I cannot prove it, I have strong reasons to believe they came from our room. Also, the bathtub is separated from the room with a glass panel – definitely not “ideal for 3 adults”! There is a curtain but it tells you it’s not designed for triple occupancy. The shower room smelled horribly of mildew stagnant water. The toilet cubicle didn’t even have a bin or sanitary disposal unit which made it a bit awkward (women will relate). Furthermore, the doors are really noisy! Unless you hold them when they close, they shut close really loudly. Obviously this happens constantly in the hotel which means you can never rest peacefully. Apart from that, the mountain view rooms are facing the train line which is really really noisy! They also face the pool which was noisy at some points of the day. On top of that, the beds are really uncomfortable. The mattresses are rock hard and the pillows are either huge and stiff or thin and really soft.

FACILITIES:
We didn’t visit the pool because it looked really basic and badly maintained. Nothing like the pictures!
The entrance to the hotel is really awkward. If you come by car you can use the main entrance. Otherwise, if you walk up to the hotel you have to use an escalator on your way in which only operates till midnight and leads to a side entrance where standard sized luggage hardly fits through. On your way out you have to take the lift to the basement car park and walk through the car park out to the road. Just really bizarre.

HOUSEKEEPING:
Appalling! We had to ask the staff for something every day. Firstly, the room was setup for 2 occupants, not 3. Every day we were missing towels, glasses, mugs, water bottles etc. i.e. only have 1 sachet of coffee for 3 adults, etc. They also fold up your towels and put them in a pile. If there are 3 adults in the room, how on earth are you supposed to know who’s is which towel. Gross! We ended up requesting new towels every day – what a waste!

ROOM SERVICE:
We order food in our room on our first night due to the late check-in. How disappointing! We had a mix of western and asian cuisine and all 3 dishes were ridiculously expensive and tasted substandard.

LOCATION:
Very close to the MTR but really far from the centre. If you plan on only going back for a sleep it’s ok. We were out all day and came back only to sleep so we didn’t struggle much. But make no mistake – it’s in the middle of nowhere. Connections are ok though. Also, taxis are cheap so you can still reach it after the MTR closes around midnight.

Room Tip: Do not book this hotel if you need a triple room unless you are travelling with a child.

Great hotel and super staff . This location is really great and truly a peaceful place to staff. The location is a bit far out of the city but the train and road links are great. the rooms are large and the public areas are large and peaceful

Room Tip: Great business hotel

The Hyatt Regency is a great hotel that has the most comfortable beds. The rooms are modern and views of the pool are lovely. They have very fluffy pillows that you just sink into. The shower is a very powerful rainforest style leaving you refreshed and invigorated. The pool is nice and refreshing and plenty big enough to play around or do laps. They have an outdoor cafe by the pool that has a nice view.
The breakfast is very nice with lots of variety so, I would recommend an hour to fully enjoy it. They cook fresh omelettes and pancakes to order.
The staff are very friendly and will assist with directions and late check-out requests.
I attended a wedding reception at the hotel and the catering was top notch. A full 8 course meal and they choreographed the entry of the waiting staff to music when putting down the plates on each table.
The only downside to the hotel was the location. There is nothing near the hotel if walking except for the train station with about 4 shops selling food.
