There are several Pret A Mangers in Hong Kong, but this one is the most convenient if you're in Central and on your way in / out of the MTR. The shop is fairly spacious, a gleaming box of brushed steel, with fridges containing sandwiches and soft drinks down one side, and the main counter with the potato crisps and a cabinet for baked goods over on the right. But that describes almost every Pret A Manger in the universe - rest assured, this is no different to the rest. Except that it will accept payment by an Octopus card, which is convenient if you have no cash handy.
Sandwiches are reliable, which is to say never frightfully exciting but never frightful. Last time I was here I had the avocado wrap, which is a decent vegetarian offering. There are also some tasty warm wraps, but if you check Pret's website you'll probably discover they have more salt than you expected. Oh well.
Staff are cheerful, and although the queue can get long at lunchtime, you're still served and out very fast. As long as you haven't ordered a hot beverage - I'd recommend that you don't, because there's better coffee available nearby and you won't need to wait quite as long.
