“Great Hotel in a Good Central Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

This hotel offers excellent facilites, rooms, service, breakfast and amenities in a good central location. We enjoyed an excellent "western" breakfast each morning. Dinner options are a bit pricey but food is great. Room service food was good.

Room Tip: Great breakfast included in the room rate for us.

coming to this hotel i had high standards based on the reviews that i read online. i was deciding between this newer property and the grand hyatt on hong kong island. this one seemed better based on location but i think it was not such a great choice. hindsight i should have stayed at grand hyatt because we stayed in a regency club room, access to the club lounge was not so great here. i expected an abundance of offerings throughout the day but it was so disappointing. i realized that the grand hyatt had much better offerings and although its on hong kong island, the hong kong metro is so convenient and fast that it doesnt really make it out of the way as i thought it would be.

upon taking the taxi to this hotel, the entrance is in the basement where they greet you, then you take the elevator to the ground level to check in. i thought that was prettty pointless since the cab could have literally just dropped us off at the ground level entrance. either way i must have been really unlucky because at check in i could tell the girl i had was brand new. she had no clue what she was doing, and another had to come to the rescue. eventually they needed the manager's assistance since i had two separate reservations for a 5 night stay. the first part was a regular room while the second half was club room. i was hoping to score a free upgrade to the club room since they do acknowledge platinum members. however at first i was told they didnt have the club room available for the whole duration of my stay. then they told me that if i wanted to, i can use hyatt points to upgrade to the club room for the non club room nights. wait, didnt you just tell me that it wasnt available? in addition, being a hyatt platinum member they should have recognized that and provided the upgrade at no charge had it been avaialble? the check in process was a good 45 minutes of waiting around for the maanger to work it out behind the scenes behind their desk. we had 2 rooms as well that were identical like this so that made it worse!

they told us were were upgraded to a full 5 night stay in the club room but only for 1 of the rooms. that room unfortunately was a disabled room, which had no bath tub and just a mere standing shower. in addition, the room was actually smaller than the regular rooms since this was a handicapped access room. awesome. they upgraded us for all 5 nights for 1 of the rooms but only let us use the lounge 3 of the 5 nights. i just felt so belittled with them trying to nickel and dime us all around. the stay was pleasant for the 5 nights we were here but the check in process was so inefficient, so unprepared and just left a bad impression.

the room overall had a semi view of the hong kong harbour, which was decent had it not been for some building in the way. the location was right by the tsimshatsui station. however finding the entrance/exit was always a pain. once you find the proper exit labeled by a letter and a number you should be fine though. might take the whole duration of your stay!

I stayed here for 2 nights on business. It is the tallest building on the east side of Tsim Sha Tsui and commands great views of the Harbour from the 15th/16th floor upwards. I had a Harbour View room on the 19th floor. Superb bedroom with great views of the Harbour, mostly unobstructed. I stayed in the Panorama Hotel next door about six weeks previously but the Hyatt Regency is streets ahead. Good breakfasts with a wide range of fare to suit Asian and European (and American) tastes. The outdoor pool (on the 8th or 9th floor) was excellent too with plenty of staff/lifeguards on duty. The pool surrounds are reasonably extensive too, given the rooftop location. For quality and location you won't really go wrong with the Hyatt Regency.

This hotel is in a brilliant location close to everything you would ever need, just had 3 nights here, you have access to the star ferry to hong kong island just a quick 10 minute stroll away, the metro is across the road from ground floor entrance, all the shops on nathan road are 2 minutes away but your surrounded by shops next to hotel, we loved exploring the little back streets nearby, the hotel is on top of a shopping mall accessed by a lift to the lobby, check in was very smooth but its incredibly busy there sometimes with tour parties, we had a harbour view deluxe room, the view was amazing of victoria harbour but we never seemed to be in the room long enough to enjoy it, the room was just perfect for hong kong standards with a very comfy bed & an excellent bathroom, we had breakfast everyday in hugos which was very very nice indeed, we also had some excellent nights in chin chin bar listening to the band, it was very busy in there especially at the weekend, enjoyed our relaxing time around the pool but this is my only bad point about this 5 star property, the pool area had the most uncomfortable sun loungers i've ever used & the towels they handed out to use must be some kind of joke you could only have 1 & they were so small incredible for a 5 star hotel, everything else was 5 star all round we couldn't of asked for a better location to be at

Our 10 night stay in a harbour view room was wonderful. The staff are professional, informative and friendly. The room ws spacious, clean and comfortable. The walk in rain shower was lovely. The views of Hong Kong from the room were spectacular. Loved this hotel which lives up to its 5 stars. The location within the K11 mall and the MTR tube station was perfect to get around Hong Kong from. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were relaxing. The only very small niggle would be that more storage is required in the room but then I do pack quite a bit! Overall a brilliant hotel which I would recommend and certainly return to.

Room Tip: it is worth paying for the harbour view rooms where the view is breath-taking :-). We were on the 2...

I stayed here on Saturday night as my sister had her HK wedding reception downstairs.

The hotel is fairly new and in a central area of Kowloon. There's plenty to see and do in the vicinity.

I was given a King Room on level 19 which had views of the inland but could also see part of the habour easily if sitting on the window sill cushion. Rooms are well appointed with full bath amenities, robes, mini bar, safe etc.

The shower was one of the best with great pressure in the hand held shower head. When staying at a hotel, the shower pressure either makes or breaks my opinion of the hotel quality. The bathroom itself is very spacious.

I would also like to extend my thanks to Michael and his Events Team for helping us with the process of this function. They also gave me plenty of assistance prior to the start of the reception and I don't know where I would be without them.

On the prominent k11 skyscraper, the rooms view if you are on the bay side and enough high up are just superb. Very good service, breakfast. Very well equipped rooms, nice size and beautiful bathrooms. One tiny negative comment. If you are in 2, little space for clothes storage.
