Food was good but dessert never came. Never got apologised by staff or the floor manager, just got a disgruntled look when asked for the bill without dessert as it never came which was just a cake, and it wasnt busy either.

The Peak Café on Shelley Street in the Soho area of Hong Kong used to be ON the Peak itself but lost its lease and that space was taken over by another party and is now known as the Peak Lookout.

The Peak Café has two parts both on Shelley Street next to "The Escalator" which is supposedly the world's longest outdoor escalator. I like the restaurant/cafe which is just below the bar. Get a table near the window and watch the world go by as people travel on the escalator from Central to parts further up the hill. I always take visitors to Hong Kong to the Peak Café and they all love it.

The menu is varied... all day breakfast, hamburgers, steak and great pizzas. The wine list is extensive and everything is reasonably priced. You can't go wrong here.

Peak Café is one of my regular spots in Hong Kong for drinks and a small bite. Location at the escalator is very convenient and you can choose between two levels and different settings (e.g bar, sofa lounge, tables). Some staff are there for a long time which helps to create kind of a casual 'living room' atmosphere, especially when you manage to get a seat on the sofa in the upper level. Food is fairly standard but consistently good (I can recommend the oven made pizzas or mezze platter and salads) and they have a decent choice of drinks for different hours of the day. Usually good mix of people and music.

What could be improved is the cleanness of the toilets; during busy hours it should be checked and cleaned more regularly. Further, just recently some junior staff should be better trained with regard to attitude (e.g smile and make clients feel welcome rather than acting super busy)

We spent a very happy few hours drinking draft Guinness & Asahi on a Monday evening and it was still busy with a good mix of locals and expats. The food was good, full of flavour and unusual. I've never had a duck pizza before.

WiFi was very slow though.

Went there after a day of site seeing and was lovely to sit at the bar and people watch! Wine list is pretty good. Location was awesome right in the middle of the escalators...and heaps of foot traffic! Worth at least a drink there!
