“Restored Antique Boat Around Victoria Harbor”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

A charming restored traditional sailing boat that makes a tour of Victoria Harbor. Buy tickets from the Visitor Center in Kowloon. Be at the dock on time or early, as the boat only stays for a few minutes to pick up/drop off. We left from Hong Kong side and were dropped off on Kowloon side. Peaceful and great views.

“Not a bad hour spent”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

You have to buy the tickets at the visitor's center near the TST ferry and show your passport. We picked it up at Central Pier 9 at 5pm on a Thursday and enjoyed a little daylight and (since it was the winter solstice) and early sunset and the lights of the harbor. Completely different than the ferry cruises. Not crowded and quite enjoyable

“Neat experience”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Great way to see the harbor if you are holding a foreign passport. The boat feels very authentic and the experience is different from the Star Ferry. Only drawback was it was a cold, windy day and we weren't prepared with heavy coats. You can ride inside but it's still not enclosed from the wind.

“A touch of by-gone Hong Kong”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Every Hong Kong guide book seems to have a red-sailed junk on its cover, and we found that it is invariably always the same junk, the last remaining authentic one sailing the Harbour, and now limited to sailing a few times a week in the busy waters. We enquired at the Hong Kong tourist office near Kowloon Star Ferry terminal, and were offered tickets for that very day, at a modest cost. We turned up at the appointed time, and set off under motor power. Quickly, however, when out on the water, the iconic red sails were hoisted under clear blue skies. We sailed round and across the harbour enjoying a chilled local beer, and listened to the flap of the huge sails. We realised we would be the subject of many tourist snaps as shoreside visitors smiled and waved. The views of the architecture of this lovely city were wonderful, and the Peak showed off its splendour on a beautiful clear day. All too soon, the trip was over, and we helped haul in the sail under supervision. It had been a thrilling short trip, well worth every moment.
