I have always checked in this hotel everytime I'm in HK except if they are fully booked.

Recently they have almost completed their renovation. They did a beautiful lobby and did an excellent job on their restaurant. There were more choices of breakfast and really enjoyed the interior design.

The staff were very accommodating, warm, helpful and very friendly.

They have free and excellent signal of wi-fi.

You really get what you pay for this hotel.

Just stayed 3nights in a Superior Suite with Club Lounge privileges and it turned out to be a very good deal. Booked it 21 days advance purchase. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful from the moment of check in. Room 508 consisted of a good size sitting room with flat screen TV, sofa, 2 chairs, table, reading lamp, etc., you can check it on hotel website. This sitting room connected to the bedroom through a small hallway cum bar area (Nespresso Coffee maker, small fridge, luggage counter and cabinets) on one side and the dressing room, lavatory followed by bathroom (bath & separate shower) and toilet. Bedroom had two double beds, desk, flat screen TV, working desk with sockets to charge electronic equipment. All amenities such as safe, bathrobes, slippers, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, lotions, shampoo. Daily newspaper and fresh fruits, chocolates and a bottle of wine. Linen good quality and beds comfortable. Free WiFi. A/C control in all rooms.

We had access to the Club Lounge and this included 24/7 soft drinks, water and fruit (you could take to your room as well). Tea in the afternoon with scones and other savories, happy hour at around 6p.m. With snacks and free wine. Breakfast was also served in the lounge, good variety but you could also go downstairs to the hotel restaurant and enjoy a more lavish buffet breakfast.

For more details check the hotel website.

Hotel is located in a HUGE shopping complex where you have EVERY brand you can imagine, lots of places to eat, Super City (supermarket), banks, ATM machines, EVERYTHING. If it rains, you don't have to worry as you can still enjoy yourself in the complex. Ferry and MTR are walking distance, so is Nathan Road, Peninsula Hotel, cultural center and the harbor.

I highly recommend this hotel for HKG, good value.

Excellent hotel for business travellers with perfect location, particularly in the hot and wet summer months. I have stayed at the Gateway many times previously, but the new revamp pushes this hotel into a new league. While some old hands might miss the "Tartan Bar", the new bar, restaurant and alfresco dining area more than make up for it. Food is excellent too, with the new chef making a clear and positive impact. Top marks!

Gateway Hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It is conveniently located along Canton Road in the Tsim Sha Tsui area. The three lower floors offers a wide variety of shopping stores (electronics, clothings, a grocery, and even signature brands). Ocean terminal, another shopping complex and where the Star Ferry docks, offers customers a wide array of top notch restaurants with a view of the Hong Kong harbor.

Its rooms are newly renovated! From its standard wood and brown marble theme, almost all of its rooms have been modified into a sleek and modern one. The beds are as always big and comfortable and can fit in 2 people.

Very helpful staffs are also in sight when you need a hand for your luggages or other services.

--- Airport Express is a fast and cheaper way to get to Gateway Hotel from the airport compared to Taxis. With Airport Express, you can also go for an early check-in for your flight outbound Hong Kong instead of waiting for the check-in counter to open at the airport.

--- MTR Tsim Sha Tsui, is around 10-minute walk from the hotel. You can ride this train to go to the different parts of Hong Kong as well as HK Disneyland.

--- Also a 10-minute walk to Nathan Road where shops are abundant.

Having stayed in many hotels over 50 years of visiting Hong Kong I can highly recommend the ''Marco Polo Gateway'' hotel in Tsim Tsam Tsui, Kowloon. Not only is it so magnificently located (close to Star Ferry) for both Kowloon & Central but its got tons to offer. Rooms are large, breakfasts are wonderful and the staff are ultra service inclined.
Our room had wonderful views of the cruise ships set against the wonderful Hong Kong Central skyline. All of Kowloon is at your doorstep and Nathan Road is only 100 metres walk away. (All the Kowloon action centres around Nathan Road). It is close to the MTR Station and access to Central only is a 100m walk away. The rear of the hotel leads in to this massive shopping centre which is almost a city in itself. I feel for location, easy access, clean & affordable rooms, wonderful restaurant, this hotel would be hard to beat. Having stayed at about 15 or so in both Central & Kowloon I rate this one my favourite.

I am a frequent traveler to Hong Kong and have stayed at many different hotels, including the very popular Mira Hotel on Nathan Road. To my pleasant surprise, the Marco Polo Gateway has surpassed the Mira in location, room size, room decor, staff friendliness, and above all, restaurant quality, at almost half the cost! I saw many older reviews complaining about the dingy rooms, but that's no longer true because the hotel has been going through a renovation. My room is brand new, and very tastefully decorated in a modern style. I had a room with 2 twin beds. The room is so spacious that it rivals many American hotels. My friend got a room on the ocean side and had a great view. The location is also unbeatable: 5 minutes to the Star Ferry and 10 min walk to Tsim Sha Tsui East where all the popular museums are located. The breakfast is superb, with high quality dim sum and other food options from all over the world. The only potential downside is the lack on an onsite gym. But you can access the gym from the sister hotel Prince Hotel, which is located within the same complex. (You don't have to leave the building to get to the gym.)

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room, facing the ocean side.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Close to shops and Nathan Road. Metro station a short walk away which will take you over to Hong Kong Island or Disneyland. Great service, helpful staff, a huge range of food for breakfast and well equipped rooms. Rooms are big enough for a family of 4 or 5. I'd definitely stay here again. Yes, there were renovations going on through the day during our stay, but the one day we did spend at the hotel, renovation noise was minimal.
