“Great hotel with view of HK Harbor”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

Stay on the executive floors with a room that has a harbor view if possible. Spectacular view of harbor and Kowloon. Executive lounge access is well worth it for the view and the free breakfast, and afternoon appetizers/drinks. Amazing amount of boat traffic both large and small. Rooms are small but well equipped and spotless. The hotel has a band in the lobby in the evenings playing mood music usually with a singer. The fitness center is very well equipped. The large pool provides another workout opportunity. The bar at the pool is provides a restaurant option as well. Did I mention the tennis courts that are 4 floors up. The hotel is steps away from the Star Ferry and from the convention center.

Corporate discounts are available for advance bookings.

The harbourview room I experienced had spectacular views, the room was of a very cool contemporary design and extrememly confortable. Service standards were outstanding making it one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've had in a long while (and I travel every week!).

Room Tip: take a harbourview room - spectacular views

We are just getting ready to check out and wanted to write a quick review! We have nothing but great things to say about our five night stay here. We are Platinum Members, stayed for five nights on points. We were upgraded to a beautiful bay view room. Room is very modern, recently remodeled and very comfortable! We enjoyed breakfast each day in the lounge on the 40th floor and can not say enough about the service and staff there! Very friendly, smiles, and catering to needs. The food varied each day and was very good. A great place for complimentary drinks and appetizers also to watch the bay views and lights. Had a meal in the lobby lounge, good also. Enjoyed one night there with drinks and a live band too! The location is perfect for walking down to the convention center to catch the Big Bus Tour AND to catch the Symphony of Lights each night! Best view is in front of the convention center, facing the harbour and take a few steps to the left. Overall excellent stay here! Very clean, can't say enough! You can also catch the ferry steps away over to Kowloon. Can't wait to come back!

We stayed here on business for three nights. Executive lounge access well worth having. We were badly disturbed one night all night by construction below in harbour which is out of control of hotel. Service is excellent and breakfast buffet outstanding.
Location great with easy links on MTR and star ferry outside the hotel as well as cheap taxis.
Works well as a meeting place with boardrooms to hire. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: High level rooms with harbour views are fantastic.

The rooms are well designed, smartly decorated, but generally compact - great for singles or couples, but I really wouldn't want to put a crib let alone a roll-away in one of their standard ~ 27sqm rooms. The pool is excellent for a city hotel and the children's playground is superb - great for blowing off steam after a day out. Restaurants serve up a reasonable variety of food, but at a price - the breakfast is an eye watering 270 HKD per head. The staff are very efficient and friendly.

On the downsides, the gym is poor (but is being refurbished), and the WiFi and LAN are weak and/or signal intermittent. The location is good in terms of proximity to the ferries and the MRT but the local neighbourhood is noisey and pretty run down. You have a long walk or an MRT ride to the more up-market shops and restaurants.

Stayed for 5 nights end of March, 2013 and enjoyed our stay tremendously. Have Marriott Gold status and were upgraded to harborview King room on 38th floor with Executive lounge access. The room was definitely Hong Kong size, but easy for two to move around. We had luggage for a 2 week China trip, and the storage nooks were ample. Bathroom was actually quite large and very nice. Shower pressure was great. Window wall view onto harbor was incredible. You could see the Star ferry dock just below us and the very large construction area as well, but never heard any construction noise. The bed was soft and very comfortable. Just what I've come to expect in a Marriott property. All rooms were quiet - no noise on the floor. Wifi was great, and free to Marriott Rewards members.

The Executive lounge was on multiple floors and featured stunning views out over the harbor. Breakfasts were bountiful and featured many choices, with variety everyday as well as made to order omelets and eggs. The evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 featured complimentary wine and beer (not sure about liquor) and enough variety of hors d'oeuvres and desserts to make a meal - what we shamelessly (but discreetly) did a few times.

Staff throughout the hotel were always helpful and gracious. In particular, Natalie at the front desk, Kelly in the executive lounge, and Andrew with computer services were of special assistance, and went out of their way to assist us.

This was our first trip to Hong Kong. The HK Forum and assorted reviews on Tripadvisor made this adventure very easy to plan. The city was very easy to navigate by subway, bus, and ding ding tram. It eased our anxiety to know that with taxis plentiful and very inexpensive, we would never be lost and were only a $5-7 USD taxi ride away from our hotel. But always bring your hotel address card. We forgot it once and the driver only spoke Cantonese - that was our bad.

Fantastic and welcoming hotel. We would stay there again.

Stayed at the harbour view suite which has fantastic views. However quite noisy at night due to construction ( this is not the hotels fault) Besides that no other issues . Rooms were spotless. We had lounge access - which included breakfast, after noon tea and cocktails . However we could only enjoy breakfast which was a decent spread.
Staff are polite and efficient . One of the guys at the concierge was excellent- gave us very good tips on how to go to Schenzhen.
Hotel location was perfect for our needs. We used cabs most of the time ( hk cabs are quite reasonable) and having the guy at taxi stand inform the driver of the destination in Cantonese was very helpful. However should you wish to take the bus/ train it's quite convenient too. And going to Shenzhen was most convenient from the hotel- you could take a direct bus or take the train which is what we did.Oh - also the hotel is walking distance to the Wanchai computer mart!
