This is probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at and I am an SPG Lifetime Platinum Member. I was upgraded to a suit and it was simply divine. The layout was perfect and efficient. The decor was modern yet functional. The room had a great view of the harbor and most importantly, comfortable. The hotel is also conveniently located in the same annex as the Airport Express Kowloon Station and superb shopping. I am buying a condo in Shanghai and am going to model it right off this suit, I hope the W won't mind.

We stayed at the W Hong Kong for 4 nights at the end of October in a Fantastic Suite. This is our 3rd W Hotel this year having been to the Maldives Resort & Spa and Paris Opera earlier on this year. The room was exactly as described fantastic and the service as good as ever.

All our endless calls to Whatever Whenever were addressed swiftly and efficiently and the hotel helped us move around resturant reservations that we had made in advance and also make new reservations for us.

We were lucky enough to be around for the Diwali party at the Woo Bar which was a great and fun evening with superb music and drinks.

Everything at this W is exactly what you expect and what makes the W hotels so special. Great music playing everywhere, in the lifts, lobby, corridors and off course in the room with the great Symmetry album which we have a copy of from previous stays. Having now continued our trip across Asia to other none W resorts we can see just how important the music is. We find ourselves plugging in our iPhone with the W Music app as we go around other hotels just to get the same atmosphere going.

The biggest Wow factor of this hotel is the pool on the 76th floor. Sweeping views of Hong Kong, great drinks and great music. Also a great place for a snack and then head down to the changing rooms for Steam/ Sauna and Jacuzzi over looking the city.

There is no need to mention the room, the W bed is as good as ever, could move into a W hotel permanently as our sleep at home is never as good regardless of how many mattresses and pillows we buy. The electric curtains, mood lighting, ample storage space, clever bathroom with TV and every bathroom amenity you can imagine and the list goes on. Always make sure you explorer a W room as there are hidden iPhone docks, cabinets full of alcohol and other hidden gems.

Finally we had a great send off with Peter Hildebrand the hotel manager coming to present himself personally and then a member of his staff escorted us from the check out all the way down to the door of the MTR whilst helping us with our luggage getting us checked in to our flight and literally making sure we board the train with just a bottle of water at hand.

This is how you define perfect service. We shall certainly be visiting this W again because regardless of its size you always feel like you are the only guest in a W.

I stayed at the W hotel recently. Probably the best value added about the hotel is the upscale mall attached to it. Take that away and there is not much that you can do. It is strictly a business hotel with clean rooms, smart space allocation, and passable service. But even a business man needs some sort of distraction. The bar was soulless, the food outlets were unmemorable, and the atmosphere quite, well, business like.

Hello towelcarrier and sorry to hear that our hotel did not meet your expectations. The food quality of our restaurants and bars have undergone great changes to improve from service quality to food quality and we are quite confident that if you would give another chance to experience W Hong Kong, you would be able to observe the improvements made. Thank you for your valued comment and we hope to have you back again for a true W experience. Best wishes, Peter Hildebrand, General Manager.

Rooms perfect, gym good although small and over popular in morning. Pool is amazing. Got to say the breakfast buffet exceeded my high expectations. Food and ambience amazing. Had Lobster benedict - what an amazing dish! The service blew me away, the efforts of many working as a team fulfils your wishes and makes you feel super special. The anything/anytime disappointed a little - bit too clinical when I was hoping for high energy and more wow - they had my expectations sky high by that point.

this was the last stay in my recent 40th birthday 'road trip' across asia -
first impressions were a little underwhelming, a funny set up meant that you have to catch a lift from ground floor to the reception, and then the eact location of reception isn't overly obvious. however, once we had been checked in, and shown to our rooms, we were very impressed - for a big busy hotel, we never had to wait for a lift, never really saw anyone else on our floor either tbh, a very clean, and super comfortable room/bed - and possibly the best sleep i have ever had in a hotel bed.
i have only just experienced the W brand, last week in singapore and now in Hong Kong, and I am very impressed. A big mention to Lavine, one of the mangers, who gave us an absolute blast on Diwali night celebrations in Hong Kong - look forward to coming back

Room Tip: ask for Levine the manager - great guy

Hello Resh D, thanks for your review and welcome to Asia! At W we like to design our hotels to make them interesting and full of hidden surprises with some cool and interesting design features and art pieces. Apologies for the confusion on arrival, one of our talent should have been present in these areas to greet and welcome you then escort you to the welcome desk. Great to hear you enjoyed our room and the Diwali party! I’ll definitely pass your kind words to Lavine, he’ll be thrilled! Thanks again and we look forward to welcome you back! I should start by saying that we are probably not W Hotels target customers -- two sisters, who think we are sophisticated, well-travelled and well-dressed, but we're in our fifties! We stayed for two nights as part of a three-city Asian whirlwind trip.

Although we knew that there was a direct MRT connection from the airport to the hotel, as this was our third city, our suitcases were heavy with shopping purchases, so we opted to have the hotel limousine meet us, and indeed, take us back, and were very pleased with that experience, and the reasonable cost for it.

Upon arriving at the hotel on a Sunday early afternoon, we were warmly met, taken directly to our fabulous room with its fabulous view and checked in very efficiently in our room.

We went up to the pool level, but on a sunny day it offered no shade at which to sit at the bar and have drinks and snacks, so we took the lift back down to the sixth floor level. We could not get into the restaurant because it has a very popular Sunday brunch apparently, and was full. We settled for the WooBar, also quite full, and had hamburgers at a small, high table. The service was friendly, but the overall first impression was that as newly-arrived guests after a long flight, we would have appreciated being able to have a comfortable table and relaxed meal in our own hotel.

Our hotel room was interesting, beds very comfortable, bathroom interesting and with every design feature you could ask for. That part was absolutely first rate!

Access into the spectacular shopping mall was easy, and indeed for shopping alone you wouldn't have to leave the immediate mall.

However, as it was my sister's first trip to Hong Kong, we did want to take the fabulous Star Ferry ride to Hong Kong. A shuttle bus driver from W took us to the ferry terminal, but dropped us off with no instructions on how we might take the shuttle on our way back (language issue). We had a great day in Hong Kong. However to get back, we opted (wrongly, as it turned out) to take the ferry back. There was no shuttle bus stop at the ferry or the Ocean City mall, and taxis were impossible to track down, so we walked back to W. And what a long walk, through construction sites, it was! Even when we arrived at "our" buildings and mall complex, access in from the street was difficult to find. When we finally made it inside, we had a great "happy hour" experience at the WooBar, as certainly the two-for-one beers we had were sorely needed by then.

Is it a great W hotel? Yes! Rooms comfortable? Yes. Pool view spectacular? Yes. Is the W lobby, bar, and dining room experience comfortable for non-hipsters? Not really, but I guess I knew this before I booked.

Overall experience was positive, but next time (which I hope will happen) I will probably go back to the Mandarin Oriental or try the Peninsula.

Hello Kirochka, thanks for your review. I’m happy to know that your overall experience with us is positive, it sounds like you and your sister had a great trip to Asia! I am sorry that we were not able to offer you a table at Sunday brunch, both the brunch and afternoon tea at W Hong Kong are both a big hit with hotel guests and locals alike. We do hold some seating for our in house guests, however, even then we can find ourselves reaching capacity. I am sorry to hear about your trip to the Star Ferry, due to the busy location of the ferry a pickup service is very difficult to arrange in this area so our shuttle service is only one way. We however, should have made it clear and let you know the best way to get back to the hotel as there is a cab rank outside the ferry terminal that would have had you back at the W in no time. I will share this with the team and make sure we learn from this. I’m glad the cold beers in Woobar were ready for you upon your return, indeed the 2 for 1 offer is well received by many! Thanks again for your observation. Best wishes, Peter Hildebrand, General Manager

We stayed for 5 nights recently and there are positives and negatives with this hotel.
The positives: funky decor (like all W hotels), location is handy to the MTR, comfortable rooms (bedding, amenities), breakfast buffet of very high quality and very efficient and friendly staff.
The negatives: piped music in the lifts (loud and tinny), some design in the rooms favour form over function, communication between staff and guests can be hit-and-miss, location above a luxury mall, being charged for internet use (although not high cost it staggers me that this is not part of the room rate).

There were mix-ups but these were adequately addressed and if we are ever transiting through Hong Kong we will consider staying at the W again.

I would say that if you are a 'hipster' you will be in your element at the W. If you are looking for a relaxing experience look elsewhere. If you are looking for luxury shopping at your fingertips stay at the W. If you are looking for what is left of local and reasonably priced shopping you will have to travel further afield.

Hello BJRACT, thanks so much for your review, your observations are very constructive and to-the-point. Pulsating music is indeed a strong component of the W Hotel experience and is appreciated by many, however, we understand not all. I am sorry that you did not enjoy this, everyone has their own taste. As for the internet use, I can understand your perspective, this is however standard across all Starwood hotels globally for room only rates. If you prefer to have internet included we do have our ‘Wired Plus’ package available which includes internet and breakfast. In our public areas (1F, 6/F and 76/F we do have complimentary internet access for all guests regardless of their room rate. Regarding the rooms and communication, it would be wonderful if you can spare the time to elaborate further by sending me an email via w.hk@whotels.com so that we can better understand where we fell short and take action accordingly. Thanks again! Best wishes, Peter Hildebrand, General Manager
