my sister book this hotel for 4 nights around early August for our November trip to Hong Kong. And then toward the end of August we cancel the booking because we need to stay at another area. Then after our trip in November, my sister discovered that Hotel Bonaparte charged $600 for 4 nights on her card! That's really ridiculous and totally unacceptable!

We've travel a lot and from our understanding, usually hotel don't charge your card if you cancel your booking 48 hours prior. That's the common rule right? Or usually hotel only charge one night of your booking if you cancel less than 48 hours, not the full duration! And we cancel at least 1-2 months prior the booking dates! I really don't know ANY places that do that. also, they could have told us that when we cancel, then we wouldn't have cancel and stick to the booking! But nope, they didn't say anything and just quietly charge all 4 nights on the card. That's really shady business dealing and both of us could not believed it. We tried to argue but they said it's their rule and that it's written on their website. So I am, giving the shout out to anyone who's considering this place, make sure you read their cancel policy.

Great little hotel in a fantastic location. Small rooms but with everything you'll need in a well designed package.

We choose to put up at the Bonaparte mainly because of its location, contemporary design and reasonable rates (the room was booked via Octopus Travel, online).

The hotel is within short walking distance from Time Square in Causeway Bay (approx 10min), through Wan Chai Rd. Wheeling two medium size luggages as well as a hand carry, wasn't too much a hassle to get to where we wanted to go. Upon arriving at the hotel lobby, the staffs were very efficient and we were checked into our room on the 19th floor within 15 minutes. The room was small - comfy Asian-size, if I may put it (we had to move our luggages around to move about a bit) but we found it cosy and very functional. If you are a fan of softer beds though, you may need to prep yourselves for their harder ones. I personally found it comfortable for someone with a bad back after a whole day of trekking around the island. The room has everything except, free internet connection. If you need to be online, you will have to purchase the service by hour/day.

Where public transportation is concern, there is virtually no problem finding them! There is a small bus depot two streets away, the Causeway Bay MTR station exit is located at Times Square, bus stations all along the street and taxis abundant. This is another one of those hotel I would not mind returning to. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: ask for higher floors for a better view if you do not want to be looking into someone else's place.

We've booked a business room with Hotel Bonaparte by Rhombus on 11 Oct 2011 for our Nov 2011 family trip in Hong Kong. Yet when we arrive on 3 Nov 2011, we have been told by the hotel staff that they do not have a room for us as they have been fully booked. We are lost and have shown them the confirmation slip sent to us by customer care of Zuji.com, and the only reply from the hotel counter staff was " I do not know anything. We are full and no more rooms available for you." When we asked for their help to borrow internet / phone to make phone calls / to search for alternative solutions since it was already 10+ close to 11pm, to check with Zuji's customer service about this, they have suggested we paid HK$50/hour to use their internet services or have meal at their cafe in order to use their wifi. We are very upset, we do not have mood to eat, only want to settle our alternative hotel stay asap, as we are already very tired from the flight and just wanna find a place to rest. Before we left, they have recommended that we better book directly with them instead of via an agency to avoid such disappointment again in the future. Our immediate reply to them: " Not again with your hotel. Thank you."

Room Tip: Better to call up the local hotel again and again to double confirm that they have reserved a room for you especially when you are traveling with your family. We have emailed them to inform that our flight will arrive at night around 9+pm, but no reply from them. Hence it is always better to call to confirm on top of sending an email.

Dear Valued Guests,

We are sorry to hear about your unhappy experience which was totally unacceptable. Please rest assured that I will be addressing these points with the utmost seriousness and concern. As one of the Rhombus hotels we are proud to be able to consider ourselves as setting the bar for service standards. It is regretful that your family was a victim of rare lapse in those standards. Thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. I can assure you that service of this standard is not the norm and that your next visit with us will be perfect.
