Description: Whether it's Sunday champagne brunch in Hong Kong or a 5-star dinner buffet with the family, the Clipper Lounge is where the city's social elite come to meet. While popular for breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, as well as our Sunday champagne brunch Hong Kong locals love, the Clipper Lounge is best known for afternoon tea. Elegantly presented on silver stands, the spread includes delicacies such as finger sandwiches, sweets, scones and our signature rose-petal jam. We also offer extremely popular seasonal themed teas, taking inspiration from the worlds of fashion, art and culture.

“Lovely afternoon tea in a charming environment”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We had afternoon tea at the Clipper Lounge, situated on the first floor of the Mandarin Oriental hotel and were not disappointed. Around 50 EUR (65 USD) for two persons for tea, fingers andwiches and small pastries as well as exquisite scones. Price is therefore twice or three times less than afternoon tea in similar places in London (Claridge's, Berkeley and so on).

It was quite crowded but got a table within 5 minutes. The staff could have been more attentive and efficient but I have to admit that as soon as you showed that you had been waiting for a while, they were running to catch up!

The food is very delicate and the finger sandwiches are to die for. Earl Grey tea is refilled without asking which I found particularly pleasant.

Be sure to make a tour at the shopping arcade of the hotel on the same floor as the bespoke leather goods maker is a bargain (100 EUR for an alligator card holder).

“Breakfast is expensive”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

The hotel serves breakfast buffet style for HK$288. The food is above-average in quality and service is first rate so it could be worth it if you wanted to splurge for breakfast. There is a wide selection of hot and cold food.
