My girlfriend and I just had lunch at Cafe Siam - Never Again.
- Service was absolutely horrible (even by Hong Kong standards). I have never comes across staff that are so arrogant.
- Meals came out at different times. I had to get up at one point to find out where our other main was.
- Food was average if that.

I will never return to this restaurant and would never recommend this to anyone in Hong Kong. If the owner reads this post I highly suggest your spend some time in you own restaurant to see how your staff treat guests.

Ordered online and arrived within 45 minutes (restaurant gave a courtesy call to say they were very busy so it may be 80-90 minutes but that was not the case). Had yellow Thai curry which was delicious, chicken satay, also very good. Banana fritter was a bit greasy but maybe doesn't suit being delivered, rather than served in a restaurant. Would definitely eat here again.

very good food and very nicely presented
good sized portions
pleasant decor
handy location in Lan Kwai Fong

poor service from the staff as they made it very clear that they wanted to get us and the others diners to finish and leave before their advertised closing time
the restaurant is based on two floors with a lift/elevator the only means of transfer (not a problem unless you wish to use the toilets/washrooms - men's on one floor and women's' on the other)

Would I return or recommend Cafe Siam? Definitely not! There are plenty of other Thai restaurants in Hong Kong providing very good food and good service,

Date of visit : 8 Apr 2013 (Mon) 8:30 pm
No. of diners : 2
Average cost per head : $205 (with Super Monday discount)
Food quality : 8.2/10
Environment : 8/10
Service : 8/10
Value-for-money : 8.5/10
Overall rating : 8.22/10

Other than a popular web site for trade good quality second hand furniture, AsiaXpat has lined up with a dozens of restaurants to offer a 2-for-1 discount on main courses under the title of “Super Mondays”. From the list of participating restaurants (http://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/dining/supermondays/restaurants.asp), I picked Café Siam on Lan Kwai Fong which I hadn’t tried after it’s been relocated from Lyndhurst Terrace. The food was good in general and the food was delivered promptly.

a) Spicy Green Papaya Salad 青木瓜沙律 ($76) – 8/10
In this traditional salad with papaya in thin slices, peanuts and shrimps and lime dressing, both the lettuce and long beans were the focus of the dish. In particular, the colour and crunchiness of the lettuce could not be found in local market. Good balance of fish sauce, chili and lime juice to give multi-dimensional flavours.

b) Grilled Baby Chicken 泰式燒雞 ($165) – 8/10
It only took some 15 minutes after we had ordered to see this beautiful chicken on the table. It was not as small as a spring chicken, with lots of meat. The deep fried shallots and garlic added crispiness. The chicken was well seasoned thus I didn’t touched the sweet chili sauce on side.

c) Grilled Sea Bass 泰式燒鱸魚 ($188) – 8.5/10
Thanks to the tough skin of the fish that maintained the moisture of the flesh in beneath. Although the fish was a frozen one, it still kept its freshness. Good aroma was infused from the bay leaves, galangal, lemon grass and Thai basil being stuffed in its belly.

d) Singha Draft Beer ($55), Chang Bottled Beer ($48)

Q : When will I go again?
A : On “Monday” nights with friends!
Q: What will I next order?
A : Maybe crabs.

Delicious food in the centre of the entertainment area. It was really a quite oasis away from the busy Hong Hong Lan Kwai Fong area. I ordered a coconut cocktail, which was served in a coconut and make up primarly of fresh coconut juice. Main course was a thai green curry, great flavours and left me wanting more. Highly recommended.
