Even you can effort to stay expensive hotel in Hong Kong, but you wouldn't like to spend money for only night sleeping ,you should choose Dragon Hotel.Because you haven't time looking for TV,swimming, and other service from hotel.Actually, Hong Kong hotels are mostly narrow space and more expensive than other countries.Dragon Hotel is safe, suitable for budget travellers.Owner Ms.Lam and staff also friendly. You can bargain,if you like more budget, you can choose cheap share barthroom and small single room.TV,clean small room, aircon, clean bathroom and excllent location are temporary paradise .But narrow bed for fat couple like me and my wife also like chicken at temporary battery cage culture.Hotel's pictures are bigger than actual space.

The room is small and plain but ok since it's clean. Television is not cable, only CNN can be watched. Hot shower is ok, shampoo and shower gel are provided. Outside the hostel office (near elevator), smell is not good. Doors have electronic keys so very safe.

Room tip: Chungking Mansion's elevator is always full so it is more convenient to use fire exit (just near the elevator) if you're going down. Stair is unclean, smell on fire exit, not good.

Taxi dropped us off right outside the main entrance to the building
Building is a mixture of hostels, businesses and residential.
Walk through and use RIGHT hand lift up to floor 7.
Left hand lift is for even numbers and right hand lift is for odd numbers.
Warm welcome on reception, easy and no fuss
Stayed in a double en-suite room. Very basic but had everything that we needed.
English plug sockets so no need for adapters
Free use of wi-fi in the room.
2 computers in the main reception if you need them
Room has air con but can be a bit noisy, but you soon get used to it.
Easy access to Mong Kok train/underground station.
Star ferry over to Hong Kong Island works out at about 16p one way!
Ordered a taxi with reception to take us to the airport early morning and it was right on time.
Would recommend the hostel for those that are on a budget

Room tip: Shared bathroom along our corridor always looked clean and tidy

I agree that the Chunking mansion is probabely not the most fancy place to stay in Hong Kong, but for travelers on a buget it's enough.

Dragon Inn has rooms with shared bathroom or ensuites and the owner takes good care of it. Compared with some other (cheaper) hostels in the mansion, this is one of the few that looks decent!

First time i paid 280 for a single ensuite, this time 380 because she only had doubles left.

As it's on the third floor, when you get in the mansion, take the stairs straight ahead and go right. Up two floors and there you are.

I have to warn though that the rooms are really tiny and if you're traveling with big luggage it might not be easy.

I think the room is about 2m wide and the bed already 1.5m. But hey, it's cheap and most important: clean!
