when you first enter the ancient city, it may looks like a typical tourism area, but the deeper you got into that district, the more authentic it became and you even could see that there are still local people living there.

One of best place that I visit in Chong Qing.. Take a lot of photos and try some food from the local shop. Meet some local shop owner that wasting time outside their shop playing Chinese chess game and mahjong.

After travelling and seeing a million high rises it was nice to see an old neighborhood with lots of shops selling food and souvenirs. Popular with the locals, there are a lot of people on the streets and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. Interesting street food made for an exotic atmosphere, we had a great time there.

It's a cute little ancient town with delicious snacks to eat! Bring your appetite and munch on the street food while you stroll through the shops. It's easy to get to also. Just take the subway (line 1) to ciqikou and follow the crowds down the street (about 1 km) to the entrance.
