Agree with most other reviews although I did enjoy the visit as there were some interesting foods and creative stalls not seen elsewhere eg the ground pea puree and the woman who made fine toffee figures mounted on a stick. The competing music was a little annoying at times, some parts very crowded and some pretty average tourist stalls and I don't recall seeing any porcelain as per it's historical roots, but overall it was not an unpleasant thing to do...but if you're short of time you could spend it more wisely!

This is an original village, that has been face lifted in recent years. Many of the buildings are 400 years or more old, parts of the temple are 1200 years old. Go down the alleys and climb the stairs into the neighborhood. I go there several times a year it is a fun place, lots of crafts shopping.....it could use a decent bar or restaurant, but other than that.....sit at one of the tea houses.

Actually i have to say this place is wonderful but it has been rebuilt so many times. it is hard to find the old time here.

And the most important thing is do not go there in weekend. You will be crazy by lots of people

It is such a along galery when we through the way.

THere are full of many many people whenever you go. (i guess coz i felt it like this) and also lots of beautiful stuffs including many traditional Chinese things.

But i like the old road best as well as the little bars by the side. If you are interested in Yangtze River, you are suggested to go to the end of the galery. But i am not sure whether it is Yangtze RIver or Jialing RIver, haha.

Anyway, if you have free time in Chongiqng, you have to visit here coz your Chinese friends will suggest ,too.

We went there when it was raining all day, and it turned out to be too romantic. Many shop sell some Chinese art, both conventional and contemporary. Must visit place if you come to Chongqing
