Locals call it Hongyadong. It is a modern complex done in Chinese style architecture where one can find souvenir items and other chinese art crafts and local restaurants and nice eating places. It has a Mexican restaurant patronized by the expat community.

Go there in the evening when all the lights are on. It's a beautiful place to spend an evening

A maze of shops and lanes on different levels lined by steps, escalators and lifts; if you can find them. Good variety of .hops from crafts to expensive gems and stones. Can be entered from the river level or the upper level on Changbei Street. A great evening out.

The varying levels at this shopping and eating attraction on the Jialing River are interesting and we liked the various sculptures around about, including the large ship jutting out high above the river. This place would be a relief in the heat of the day as it is airconditioned. However, it seems like a bit of a white elephant as many of the shops seemed to be closed down or about to close down and there weren't many people about, very unusual in China. Needless to say, worth a scratch thru, and would be lovely views of this river city if you could see it thru the thick pollution.

You can sit at the 'Lyre Irish Pub' (Irish in name only) on the top floor and enjoy a beer - hardly any Irish beers or whiskeys tho' - and inhale all that lovely Chongqing air .... whilst having your Mexican meal (work that out?!) but we did have an enjoyable meal there. I would recommend it as somewhere to go in Chongqing, it's relaxing but it's not fantastic.

A new building that looks and feels old. I like the location and all the action there. It is filled with shopping and eating. Excellent stop for a quick trip to Chongqing.

This complex multi-story building built on the side of the cliff has several floors of souvenir shops, a couple of floors of restaurants, bars and teahouses. We basically did it for lack of a better idea as to what to do in Chongqing. We found a nice teahouse with a beautiful view of the Jianin river below; the day was very foggy, but it still made for a pretty picture.
