“Much better than it sounds and mind snapping antique bargains to be had.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

This is a Must, must do! Also the 3 Gorges Museum which sports a terrific toilet. Very necessary if you've just had spicy Sichuan food.

Some great photo opps here! Walk around the square, it’s very refreshing. Watch the locals playing musical instruments and try some Chinese tea from the tea shop and chill out.

Located to one side of the square is the antique market. The lack of cashed up western tourists here means prices are very reasonable. You won’t get skinned! I offered 100 Yuan for a substantial bust of Mao and they snapped my hand off. Now that is terrific business! You’ll find some real old stuff there too that you won’t find at the tourist traps.

“Fascinating Square”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

A huge square, full of people, with lovely architecture surrounding it. The traditional Great Hall of the People is on one side, the ultra modern Three Gorges Museum (free, and well worth a visit) on the opposite side.
A great place for 'people watching.'

“Chongqing Attractions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

We had a brief stopover in Chongqing after our disembarkation from the Cruise Ship.
Chongqing is a very big and modern city and also rich in ancient history and history of new China.
Jaifangbei's Square is in the city centre and busy shopping areas of fashion designer outlets and
a social gathering place and other entertainments.
The Three Gorges museum is worth visiting with lots of ancient antiques displace and history
of The Ba minority native culture. The history of The Three Kingdoms and history of New China.

“Clean, Beautiful and Interesting - People's Square”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

The People's Square is a large area where people can congregate without feeling crowded. This area is very clean and beautiful looking. There is the impressive People's Grand Hall on one side of the Square and the lovely Three Gorges Museum on the other side. It feels nice walking around the square because of the beautiful landscaping and of the contrasting styles of building architecture: the classic style of the Grand Hall and the totally modern style of the Three Gorges Museum. It is worth the visit to see the Square, the Grand Hall and the Museum.
