I stayed here for 2 nights for a conference in the hotel. The hotel was out of town so we had to take a taxi for sightseeing. It wasn't that difficult getting a taxi and the bellhop was helpful all the time. However, there is a Wanda Plaza next to the hotel with lots of restaurants and shops. It is worth a visit.

Service staff was excellent, from concierge, reception, housekeeping to restaurant servers. The room was impeccable and tastefully furnished. I slept very well on both nights.

I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was an international buffet spread. The only minor complain I have was that the same fried rice and noodles served for breakfast was also served for lunch.

My room was far too stuffy and hot then i expected, esp when outside is so cold! I called the concierge twice but the staff explained that it is bcoz of the environmental policy. They offered me a fan finally which made things better. Plus the very moderate city view from my room, this hotel was comparatively less comfortable than other hotels i've been to recently.
Services are remarkable.

Before booking this hotel, we were aware that it just came off construction and should be in excellent condition. The lobby is quite impressive with its high pillars and is equipped with comfortable and stylish furnitures. There is also a nice bar at the far end of the lobby. The check-in was efficient and the receptionist was fluent in english. The way to the elevators already conveys the feeling of being in a 5 Star Hotel. The room, and it was just a standard room, beat everything I have seen before. Everything, from A to Z, is perfect. The centered bath with glas surrounded is the eye candy among other nice features. I would even change my office chair with the one in that hotel room. Looking out of the window, there is an interesting contrast between the populous city with its high rise buildings and the luxurious room in Le Meridien. We had breakfast included in our rate and this buffet is just outstanding! There is a spa and indoor pool for relaxing after using the well equipped gym. On 5th floor, there is a huge ball room used for conferences, exhibitions and weddings. I have not tried the restaurant but heard from friends that food was excellent. If there is something I can complain about, then I would say that the staff in the altitude 29 bar (in lobby) should be english speaking as well and also a bit more efficient. The location is not bad, but taxi availability needs to improve. There is a huge shopping mall next to the Hotel called Wanda Plaza and nice restaurants for trying out local delicacy "Hot Pot".

I can definitely recommend to stay in this hotel, would even consider one day more in Chongqing just to enjoy the hotel instead of sightseeing!

It would be difficult not to be impressed with the quality of this hotel which sets a new standard for Chonqging. However, the difficulty in attracting taxis is a major problem. The new public transportation under construction will improve matters.
The club lounge was very well appointed but the lack of guests made it difficult for the attentive staff. I enjoyed the pool but again I was the only guest. The staff are keen and attentive but the low occupancy makes it difficult for them I sensed. I will stay again in the hope that the taxi service improves. However, full marks to Le Meridien for raising the hotel standards in Chonqging

This modern Starwood hotel boasts a large, atrium-sized lobby with contemporary furnishings: a bright crystal light installation hanging from the ceiling, splashes of red decor and contrasting dark furniture which augment its otherwise neutral palette. Free WiFi is available only in the hotel's lobby and public areas.

Checking my party of four into two rooms took about 20 minutes which is unacceptably slow for a global hotel chain. Only two competent staff manned the Front Desk; their similarly smartly-uniformed (but undertrained) colleagues kept referring enquiries to them. To the latter's credit, we were recommended the Source of Taste restaurant in the vast adjoining Wanda Plaza, where we enjoyed two excellent dinners.

In one of our rooms, the safe was not working. The hotel was out of firm pillows when we complained that ours were too soft. On the plus side, rooms are comfortable and efficiently laid out with electric kettle, mini-bar fridge, good lighting and a large flat panel TV with cable access. A Chinese-inspired freestanding wardrobe contained an iron and ironing board, bathrobes, umbrella, smoke hoods and an electronic safe with electricity outlet inside. The rest of the room's furniture was sleek-looking and functional.

Bedroom slippers, bottled water, teabags are gratis. Internet access in the room, however, is not. There are ample multi-plug electricity outlets for charging mobile phones, camera, laptop, etc.

Light switches for the bathroom and toilet cubicle are counter-intuitively placed at the room's entrance. The bathroom has two full-length glass walls (switches adjacent to the single washbasin operate a modesty screen), the smaller of which abuts a large sliding door. The thoughtfully installed Duravit sanitaryware, Grohe shower and bathtub systems and Hansgrohe Axor washbasin faucet complement a large chrome laundry basket on castors, powerful hairdryer and two wastebins. Disappointingly, there no towel bars (unless one uses the handles of the shower and toilet cubicle doors for hanging them) and only one clothes hook on the wall. Amenities like soap, shampoo, etc, are provided, as to be expected.

Sound insulation between rooms is good but the doors fail in this respect as conversations in the common corridor are carried into the room as if the door is open.

The hotel's ground floor cafe, Latest Recipe, did not have our entitlement details when we went for breakfast the next morning. The staff showed no initiative: instead of checking the hotel's computer records, she merely glanced at her clipboard and insisted that only one of us in the room was entitled to a complimentary breakfast. It took 15 minutes to sort this out, including a long-distance call to our travel agent, and waiting at the Front Desk for a competent staff to attend to us. Our breakfast entitlements were reinstated and a fruit platter of (imported) green apples was profffered in apology. The breakfast delay was especially annoying because it could easily have been avoided with better-trained staff and we were due to drive 2.5 hours to the Dazu Rock Carvings, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. As for the buffet breakfast itself, there is a good noodle bar; otherwise, nothing stood out for better or worse.
