Stayed in the hotel several times in last few months, alway got the best experience. I love the hotel, truely 5 star hotel in Beijing.
The hotel is located at the China Central Place (an upscale mall, and some office buildings, residential buildings), next to Ritz Carlton Beijing, to a metro station. It is very convenient, and upscale area. The hotel building is a 17 story building, with the executive floors on the top 2.
The rooms are very spacious, and modern, in good decor. One time I was upgraded to a suite in a corner, extremely nice, and big marble floor in my bath. The executive lounge is very nice, and open all days with foods for breakfast, lunch snack, afternoon tea, and evening drinks, and sweets. You may also take breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. But the hotel does not have a Chinese restaurant, I was told I may go to the next door (Ritz) to have some good Chinese foods, then I can put it in my room directly from the Ritz, interesting!
One of the big advantage of the hotel is the location, next to an upscale mall, with lots of good restaurants in, pretty much you can find all kinds of foods from all areas in China, such as Cantonese, lamb hot pot in Beijing style, etc. If you are really interested in Chinese foods, what the local Chinese eat, you should get down to the basement of the mall, there is a food court there for all styles of Chinese foods in cheap, where most office people around the areas, and shoppers eat, some items are as cheap as $1, and very dilicious, and nice. worth a try.
Since it is next to a metro station, there is no need to take a cab to get around Beijing, 2CNY is all you need for unlimited connection/transfer as long as you are in the metro system. You may ask what time the metro stop at evening time from the concierge (I believe the metro stop at 10:30pm, make sure).
The hotel also has an extremely nice, and sizable gym, with an indoor pool, sauna, steam, and a stretch room, I enjoyed the gym very much. The gym also takes outside membership, so most people you may see probably are from outside the hotel.
I highly recommend the hotel to anyone, who wants to have a nice stay, and fun trip in Beijing, yet you have chance to taste local foods in cheap, and get around the city easily.
