“Excellent food in a splendid environment.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

It is a great way to spoil yourself, your family, friends or business contacts by tasting the truly great Beijing roasted duck at the Dongsi branch of the Dadong Roast Duck restaurant. Located on the grand floor and the second floor of a modern office building, it is surrounded by Ming dynasty granaries, which have been turned into posh restaurants and oppulent tea houses. You feel the air of history, which tunes you for a feast good for some high-ranking mandarin of the days gone by.

The restaurant enterrior is tastefully minimalist and Asian, with a touch of high-class elegance. The service is impeccable, as well as are the delicious courses. The duck is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy in the inside. If you add the titbits that comes with the duck and the traditional steamed pancakes, you'll get an orgy of tastes, textures and flavours. We also ordered cold rolls of duck meat in rice wine with little cubes of rice wine and vinegar jelly. It was just wonderful. The squirrel fish is sweet sauce was equally outstanding.

This restaurant is recommended, but the quality is coming with a hefty price! So, think about a good reason to indulge yourself and your loved ones or business partners, and let it be a special and memorable occasion.

I liked the duck and I liked the duck. The duck is very, very good. I recommend the duck most highly. Go to the Dadong Roast Duck restaurant in Beijing and eat the duck.

“Wow, great food, service and environment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel as the best in Beijing for duck and it lived up to the recommendation. The menu is extensive with a range of specialist Beijing dishes. The service was very good and the restaurant atmosphere was professional, with its white tablecloths and table side serving areas.

“"My best meal so far in China"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

That was my wife's comment, and I have to admit the Peking duck was pretty amazing. The menu had a bewildering array of options, although half of them seemed to be unavailable when we asked - but don't let this put you off, as there is still loads to choose from. Strongly recommend the duck speciality for first timers.
Good selection of international wines.
