“Nice room with good location, but ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

We were here for a business trip in Beijing and stayed for three nights.

The hotel was nice and delivery a good service, however, the only thing we weren't so pleased with the hotel was for their parking situation.

We were having five people in total and the hotel won't even let us to pull the car in front of the hotel gate so we will have to all drag our own suitcases to the hotel, and of course, the doorman just stood there and watch us instead of helping.

The next day, we were having people to come to pick everyone up from the hotel, but again, no parking spots were available so we asked hotel if it's okay to just park on the street outside and if possible for them to watch the car for us for a little bit, but of course, denied in cold.

We were very surprised so we had to ask the general manager, and finally, he was able to find a spot for us, but that was a lot of troubles.

I am pleased with the services, room and the breakfast, but with what we had to go through with the parking, that really was a lot of troubles, especially to our clients and friends who were coming to meet us at the hotel with a car.

Room Tip: If you don't want to cause troubles for your friends' who come to meet you at this hotel wit...

A great location in the middle of
Touristic Dongcheng district and on a walking distance from the forbidden city.
Additionally the hotel is well furnished and most of staff speakers reasonable English
Room is spacious and sunny ,
The wifi is free all over the places however it' bit slow, pick up speed connection at early morning.
Room is well equipped with everything including tea making set.
For sure I will select the hotel again if had a chance to visit Beijing again.

First time in Beijing, and had to choose an hotel on line. I selected The Kapok, for his location and pricing. The room are large, clean, amenities are first class. Really five star service from the receptionists, and great service by housekeeping. The hotel is modern, and located near the forbitten city, a walking distance from great shopping, restaurants and metro station.

Room Tip: Choose a garden view

It's a nice modern hotel in the very centre of Beijing, next to the Forbidden City and Wangfujing street. The staff is very helpful and polite. Rooms are clean, bright and cosy. Though the breakfasts are not cheap for Beijing, but I appreciated them a lot.
There are three metro stations in about 10-minutes walk from the hotel.
I definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel is centrally located at Wang Fu Jing, one of the best shopping and food spots in Beijing. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just walking distance to Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City and very close to the subway. The hotel also can help you with the tour that's fit with your budget. Got free wifi in the room (happy for that). We didn't have breakfast there, but there are many good mini market next to the hotel, really cheap and you can buy anything you need, and for muslim at Wang Fu Jing area got two(2) muslim Restaurant near to the shopping mall.

The hotel is modern and clean, the location is very good (a walking distance from the Forbidden City and from Wangfujing street), although a little bit far from the subway. The staff was very friendly all the time, they booked some trips for us (Great Wall, Chinese Opera, etc) and it was not more expensive than other agencies. Breakfast is not included and it is very expensive, but at the end it was a good choice, we tried to find something better in the neighbourhood but we didn't, and the breakfast at the hotel was a very complete meal (for both occidentals and orientals). Wifi connection was always very slow.

The rooms look really good and are huge. It is just a few minutes walk to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, The Night Market, and the Wangfujing shopping center. The only thing I could comment about this hotel is that the staff don't speak much English and the wi-fi connection is not as good - at least where we were staying.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Kapok in Beijing is a uniquely designed boutique hotel located in the heart of this ancient Chinese city. A modern looking boutique hotel crafted with a touch of Chinese influence, next to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The lantern, a traditional icon in China, is used as a concept of exterior design, which breaks the boundaries between inner space and outdoor environment. An unconventional layout presents a spacious area; the ample use of glass enhances the natural light and the bamboo courtyard in the lobby slows the pac e of urban life. Hotel Kapok consists of 89 guestrooms and 16 suites, appointed with small gardens on the balcony. The interior design focuses on simplicity and pureness: white is all-pervading in the room, wooden floors and glass built bathrooms liberates the traveler's body and soul. The "Staircase Library" certainly increases the joy of reading. Hotel Kapok delivers personalized services while providing conveniences such as restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, business and fitness center.Hotel Kapok is located in the heart of Beijing , on the east side of the Forbidden City, minutes away from the famous shopping district Wangfujing.
