While I agree with other reviews that the location is good, it's not enough for me -- would not stay here again. This is a tired old otel. Stayed for 3 nights as part of a tour package. Room was pretty clean but because it was old gave the impression that it was not. Towels were terrible. Staff was polite but English level was low. I did find b'fast to be OK, no real complaints there.

I would stay elsewhere next time.

This hotel was clean , tidy and well maintained . Free wifi was good but didn't work for Facebook but worked fine on everything else . We always had fresh towels and a clean made bed . Very centrally located . Staff were helpful but maybe a little of a communication gap in languages . The food was good and a large variety on the menu . I would stay here again . No complaints .

This hotel is coasting on ratings from the past. Right now it is a dive with a good location and not much more going for it. We walked away from an $800 prepaid and non-refundable Agoda booking for this hotel after one night and stayed at the Novotel instead. Don't be fooled by the old reviews. It's in a dirty back street, it smells, the rooms are cramped and dirty and there's a noisy construction site right next door.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

This hotel for 4 nights was excellently located - walk around the corner for 10 minutes and one is at the heart of the Forbidden City and next to Tiennamen Square. Bit old and average but nice service, fantastic breakfast, and adequate bedroom. The staff were great. Close to so many tourist things and easy to walk or get a taxi.

Room Tip: Stayed in 2 different rooms as I had 2 days away in between - basically all rooms are similar but mo...

Just returned from a 9N stay in a Queen bed baseroom room. Room is small with not much space if you have more than one big luggage. Wardrobe size is small with its door also serving as a door for the bathroom ( the bathroom has 2 entry points - the actual bathroom door plus the 'wardrobe door' ). Room comes with the usual complimentary items - a small bottle of water, 2 toothbrushes, shower cap, shampoo & bath gel, 2 satchels of jasmine teabags and disposable slippers.

At the top of one side of the wall, there is a panel of glass casement windows that let in natural light. Air-conditioning works fine. Though it's a basement room, the stay is fine for the price we paid - as we are usually out in the early morning and returning only in the evening.

The location is good - about 10 min walk to nearest subway ( Line 1 - Tian'anmen East ) and walking distance to Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Sq, Wangfujing shopping street. Central and convenient subway transfers to many of Beijing's top attractions.

Service staff is helpful and friendly ( we can speak Mandarin ).

I would recommend a stay at this hotel - good value for price paid.

This Days Inn as fairly average as you would expect from the chain concerned. But the location is brilliant. Literally just around the corner from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square it must be the place to stay in Beijing.

Also close to shopping and the efficient and very cheap Beijing metro system.

Highly recommended for the location.
