We arrive and we re put in a room we had not booked the charged double, we had to fight to get in back and then row with them about getting our key deposit back after we had given them the key. The staff were rude, ill informed and unhelpful. One receptionist told us that the whole of the Forbidden city was inside Tianammen Square, all 1 million square feet of it......

There is only WIFI in a very small tour booking area not in the rooms

We enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our time there. Location was excellent, as we used the subway to get around. One small complaint was the bathroom in our room, which looked a bit scruffy and the shower was cold the first few times we used it. We learned that if we left the shower running for a few minutes that the water would start to heat up. However, the bed was very comfortable. Also the bar on the 6th floor was a good place to hang out, with comfy couches to sit on. For the price-we were very happy.

I stayed in a 4bed shared room. Bed was comfy compared to other hostel/hotels in China. Food was Western and nice but you could be waiting over 1hr for your food. Room was cleaned once a week and was dirty to start with. The shower curtain was stained in black gunk! The staff are pretty useless, I paid for a wash and dry of my clothes but the dryer didnt work and they came back soaking wet, but I was told I couldnt have a refund and that it wasnt their problem. Also kept having to make trips downstairs to remind them to leave towels in the room. Oh and the internet was painfully slow when it decided to work. I only paid 60rmb a night so cant complain too much.... Was in a really good location and becasue of this and only this I would consider going back.

Room Tip: Its luck of the draw some peoples were not so bad

I read many reviews before going beijing n found this has many positive reviews..so make booking through agoda online for this hotel.Once we reach beijing we took airport express to zhongandigman than from there we took taxi but make a mistake as the taxi drivers like to increase price since we r tourist..so we paid 100yuan just from zhongandigman to the hotel..we can take subway to the hotel..but we r new there so don want hassle than took taxi..The hotel nice n located near tianmen square n forbidden city..n freindly staff..the most important they can speak english n easy to comunicate. Most people in beijing couldn,t speak english n have to use some signals to get know something.. tour guide also available but quite expensive..u can get more tour outside there especially near tianmenn..n got bar in the hotel at nite .The restaurant food quite expensive but nice. But the hotel is not suite for big families cause room quite small n very minimum basic things in the room.we took double room .the space quite small n bathroom also quite small..anyway its just small matter as we wont stay in hotel all days , we most will be going out n nite only come back to room. The heatter work well n got TV, also hot pot to make drinks.Got internet but have to pay .
Just tips for travell use subway..we use subway to most places in beijing..to Kings joy hotel, frm the airport take airport express to zhongandigman than from there u can take subway train line 2 (blue) to qianmen station..thn just walk about 10 mins to the hotel.
to other places in beijing such as summer palace, take line 10 to beigonmen staition n exit C n walk from there about 5-10 mins to SUMMER PALACE..
tO GREAT WALL BADELING take subway line 2 to Juishutan station than from there walk bout 10 mins , take bus 999 to badeling..but alot scam there .so avoid them n just took bus with 12 yuen only to greatwall.hope this tips would help u..also bring alot cloths especially jackets as the climate very cold even got sun cause its spring now n only 13 celcius ..have great day in china.

We stayed at King's Joy Hotel for over a week in December 2010. It's very near to the Forbidden City which is a plus because with it comes many bus stations and a subway station. The Performing arts centre is also not very far away. Food can be easily found within walking distance. if you are not used to Chinese food, there's always a KFC not very far away. Nightlife is good too as it is very near to some busy hutongs at which you can have a drink or just shop. The service at the hotel is quite good-room service everyday, free internet in the internet room if you have your own laptop, and some English speaking staff. Overall, it's a great place and I'd stay there again if I go to Beijing.

A pretty basic hotel with an excellent location. Stayed in a double room which was basic but very clean and there was nothing to complain about. The very best thing about this place is the price and the location. You don't get to pay a fortune but still you are very close to The Forbidden City etc. It takes you about 10-15 minutes to get there from the hotel. Will definately stay there again if I ever go back to Beijing.
