The staff there were excellent and rooms are very nice. They even have nice bikes for cycling in the great cycling city. Like the courtyard very much, and will stay there again if I go back to Beijing.

It's a little hard to find initially, but well worth the effort. The manager and staff are very helpful with good English skills. In fact, since it is a small hotel, the manager took the time to give me a private tea ceremony with 10yr old special pur-erh tea! They also have free bike rental and the forbidden city is a pleasant mile or so walk. There is a generous breakfast served at 7am. The neighborhood is interesting to experience as you see many kids, dogs, and people going about their business. Not far from small shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: The website has good directions.

We loved this hotel in the very interesting hutong area of Beijing.it was a taste of "real life" in China where the local people were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is a lovely traditional style where the rooms face inwards onto tree filled courtyards. Very lovely atmosphere. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable.
But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. When we got into trouble after I had lost my wallet, the staff were exceptional in their efforts to help us. The Manageress Julia, to whom we will be eternally grateful, even gave up her one day off to accompany us to the police station to help us make a report.

A safe and convenient location, the Sihe met expectations based on all of the reviews we read. As two female travellers we felt very comfortable in the neighbourhood and all of Beijing. Never once did we feel unsafe. The front desk employees at the Sihe were friendly and accommodating, eager to help and arrange taxis and outings. The location of the hotel was great - very easy to walk everywhere. We walked to Forbidden City, and back (albeit we were a bit tired on the way back after walking all through the FC). The hotel itself was charming - lovely rooms, very comfortable beds actually, enough space for 2 people to have "their own space" and a decent bathroom with an amazing shower. Very surprising shower! Always hot water and strong water pressure. What else was a pleasant surprise was the breakfast. For a boutique hotel it had a full hot breakfast - Chinese and Western, indoor and outdoor seating. For Westerners they had the included breakfast which was hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, toast, coffee/tea or you could order off the menu and have omelettes and different egg options. It was very good. All around a great experience.

I arranged a taxi pi-up of the the airport very last minute and the hotel were very quick to respond and arrange everything and there were no issues at all! My room was ready upon arrival, which was great after a long-haul flight. The room I had was a standard double room and was quite small, so was ideal for one.Although I think it would be a bit of a squeeze with two people and lots of luggage, so that might be worth bearing in mind. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, so I have no complaints there. It's very quiet, which is wonderful - you would never think you are in the middle of a supercity! Breakfast was pretty basic, but fine if you're in a rush - I'd recommend going out to a street food stall for something more substantial. The location is excellent, with great transport links and amenities just a short walk away. You can get a good sense of hutong life by wandering through the alleys. Finally, what I think makes this boutique hotelso great is is the staff. Always friendly and happy to help - thanks for making me feel so welcome!

Staying in Sihe hotel was a great choice as it allowed us to experience traditional hutong houses. The hotel has a lovely courtyard, room was fairly small but very authentic, furnished with old fashion pieces of furnitures, yet modern bathroom. It is a great escape from busy and crowded central of Beijing at the same time being in the central of the city - metro is 5 min away and it takes 2, 3 stations to the major landmarks.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a traditional courtyard home at the hutongs nicely converted to a warm and comfortable hotel. The room though a little small but is very clean with beautiful traditional chinese furniture...loved it. It is convenient located within walking distance to the subway station and Wangfujin street. Along the way from the hotel to the subway, you get to see and experience the locals' daily life and there are numerous local style restaurants and small shops selling various items. It is a interesting walk. The girls at the hotel are most helpful especially arranging for the taxi to send us to the airport at 5.00am and called to ensure that the taxi arrived on time.
