Wonderful city
Fantastic experience. Central area in walking distance of shopping area. Stayed here 3 nights. Buffet evening meal good as was breakfast. Visited Great Wall, forbidden city which was just amazing. Would like to have stayed longer.

I stayed for four nights I chose this hotel because of location and the rate was slightly better than the peninsula where I was considering I booked a suite that connected to another room as I was traveling with kids the room was comfortable and like a 2 bedroom suit .
Check in and check out was provisional , concierge was helpful and friendly
the breakfast on the club flour was limited the location is good service in the hotel Italian restorant was slow and they did not have other restaurants the spa had central cooling the room was cold and could not be made wormer in general I was not impressed by the hotel so I went to see the peninsula I only sow the lobby it grander but it was not my style small lobby and is within a expensive shopping mall with brands like Chanel , I liked the lobby of the grand Hyatt

Stayed at Regent Beijing for 4 nights as a part of our trip around China. Decent bedrooms, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Public areas were spacious but can't seem to get used to the smoke anywhere you like policy (maybe not a policy but the chinese do it anyway)! Anyways, is not my country so tend to respect whatever goes on :)
I would say that the majority of customer facing staff have a little English.. not a big problem.. I kind of enjoyed miming out most things if they didn't understand.. they must have thought "oh, here comes that crazy English guy again.. what's he going to ask for now"?
If you like to eat duck, there is a fantastic restaurant v close called Dadong. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere so much, we went a few times. Huge place with good food (extensive menu - not only duck dishes). Is a little hard to find at first as is located in a shopping mall on 3rd or 4th floor. Turn left out of the Regent lobby, left again onto the min road.. walk for perhaps 200m.. cross the manically busy road to the shopping mall.. take the lift a few floors up and there you go! Well worth it.
If you want to shop, the Wangfujing shopping malls are 5 - 10 mins walk.. all sorts of shopping here, although don't expect cheap goods in the stores.. basically the same prices as UK.. famous brand sportswear etc is probably 10 - 15 % more expensive than back home.
Overall, a really enjoyable stay and great location.

I stayed 5 days/4 nights in the Beijing Regent and was impressed with the comfortable, gorgeous rooms, which create a nice home away from home. There were usually around 6 small water bottles placed in the room each day, and I found extras on my way out in the morning by the concierge desk, so I never had to venture out to the convenience store across the street to buy any. There is a bank with ATM just around the corner, and you can exchange US dollars at the front desk if need be - without an additional charge, so it equates to being about the same as going to the ATM. The bed/shower are fantastic, internet worked well (adding GoTrusted security as well); although the thermostat was a bit finicky. I had laundry service and dry cleaning, for a pretty penny, but it is a 5-star hotel so you get what you pay for. There's a golf umbrella in the room for use on rainy days, which came in very handy! And a Starbucks just outside. I would not advise taking the subway, although there is one below the hotel, as I hear it is incredibly over crowded. Room service includes a variety of Western / Italian options, which is great if you're getting a little tired of rice for us vegetarians :) Highly recommend!

This is a great location for tourists and some business travellers. It is in the heart of a very high end shopping district. If you want to buy an exotic sports car you won't even need a cab to get there. With a Bentley/Rolls Royce dealership in the lobby and a Ferrari dealer just outside, the tone is set for the neighborhood.

The hotel did all the basics right. The check-in was welcoming and efficient, the room was terrific, the public areas well appointed and the in-house restaurants were varied and excellent. What stood out for me was the breakfast. A huge buffet offering a wonderful selection of Chinese, Japanese and yes, Western breakfast delights. Everything was well labeled for the unfamiliar. It saddens me to see so many westerners pass up a top-notch oriental breakfast for their familiar fare and never realize what they are missing.

Stayed 2 nights there. Everything is luxury. Service, food, room - no complains. Took a tour via their agen - price seems to be not very exaggerated. Location was convenient for me.
Room rate looks reasonable: 1,087.50 CNY plus Tax.

Centrally located by a subway station and access to Beijing's swift, clean, lucid underground system. Forbidden City is easily walkable but don't get lost as the locals mostly only know Chinese - tho' I did get coralled by two groups of arts students whose English was quite good.

Located in upmarket area with abundance of trendy European brandshops - eg Burberry and JaguarLandrover.

Hotel has many fine facilities. TV options quite limited - certainly by comparison with Bangkok and Manila.

Breakfast was a bit limited - somewhat based on western style deep-fried junk but I did persuade staff to dish out a delicious chicken noodle soup. Otherwise chicken was not available. Don't think I saw boiled or steamed rice and definitely no jacket potatoes.

Neither this nor the other ultra expensive hotel on my package (Merchant Court Swissotel, Singapore) could match the cuisine of the cheapest I have visited (Ibis Huamark, Bangkok - now 4 Seasons) - tho' they both did provide suitable baths (Beijing's being the best). As often in life there was an inverse relation between cost and quality!
Serving staff were pretty unhelpful and for a while I was wondering where I would be permitted to sit!
