“Great Hotel with quick connection to the airport”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This Hotel was adviced by my client.

It is close to the embassy district, but I found it super. I booked a king business room and I could not have asked for more.

Good room, usuable internet, very nice shower and very spacious.

At first glance it looks to be far away from the major attractions, but it is not that bad. You can take a cab and you are there in 10 minutes and cab's are cheap in Beijing. You can take bus 126 to Silk street it will only cost you 1 Yuan.

Use the subway system and you get across town to all major attractions.

There is not much to do in the neighboorhood, but behind the hotel is a fantastic good restaurant, 5 min. walk.

If you want to be closer to themain attractions, than also be prepared to pay for it.

I found this Hotel great with friendly staff, good service and an excellent breakfast buffet.

As traffic in Beijing is a nightmare it is conveniently located close to the main road to the Airport. Making it very reliable to catch your plane.

Loved it çwill book again.

Room Tip: Book a king room for more comfort.

Very nice hotel recently renovated. Large rooms, nice view on the iced river. Very peaceful area, close to subway station. Free wireless in the lobby (upon request of password) and wired in the room.

The Yuyang is located close to a very local chinese food market (5 min walk) and some supermarkets etc., which are in the same direction. The Checkin/Checkout was quite ok, but the taxi service is horrible: the staff favor the chinese guests and we had to complain a lot to have a taxi to the airport. Very dissapointing.

The rooms are ok, but need to be refurbished as soon as possible. Breakfast is average, if you expect some special you will be dissapointed.

The hotel is ok, if you are there for one night and on business trip. But for sure, it will have better hotels in Beijing for acceptable price and Yuyang would be not my choice for a private trip.

The distance to the main tourist features is to far for walking, but taxis are cheap in Beijing.

All in all (and especially because of the taxi service), I will never book Yuyang again.

Breakfast buffet is very good. Vegetarian people only like the breakfast. Because you don't get the veg. food either at lunch or dinner. Rooms are very spacious. Get a lot of noise during late evening. Can stay for one or two night not more than that.

Now that the Yu Yang Hotel has been renovated and refurbished, the decor is much, much better, brighter and up-to-date. The rooms are comfortable, quite spacious, and well-furnished (huge and comfortable beds, TV, nice bathroom, tea & coffee facilities, the usual stuff). There is free internet access in both the rooms and the lobby, and a good desk and working space int he room. The hotel's also in a good location both for international offices/diplomatic quarter and for tourist attractions. Excellent swimming pool as well, and quite a few decent restaurants within easy walking distance (there's also a range of eating options in the hotel itself). Not an exciting or "different" experience, more the standard international hotel set-up, but it's my hotel of choice when in Beijing on business. Not over-priced, not cheap, it's about US$ 100 for a superior single room (breakfast included). The staff are helpful and friendly, too. I'd certainly recommend it.

This is a very good 4 stars hotel that worth the 4 stars category.

The first impression in the lobby is very good with ample and very clean space and nice decoration and colors (towards the traditional style though). Check in was very efficient, staff spoke good English and was very helpful.

Rooms are also fine. I've had the superior room (which is the simplest) but still it was spacious, with an adequate working space, good cable internet (price included in the room rate), small but clean and fully equipped bathroom and a nice view over the city.

A very nice bar at the Pavillion cafe offering very nice peanuts with the drinks (which are a bit on the expensive side) and having traditional Chinese live music the nights.

Breakfast is OK, nothing special but enough variety and OK quality.

Staff is efficient and eager to help and despite previous reviews I found their level of English quite good.

Location is very good if you have business in the diplomatic area of Beijing. Many embassies, consulates and international organisations are accessible by walk. Not the best location though if you want to visit the great attractions such as the Forbidden City and Tien Amen Square but even in rush hour it will not be more than 20 minutes with taxi.

Very convenient location also for the airport (just 20-30 minutes away).

The absence of wi-fi in the meeting rooms is a problem.

Overall a very satisfactory stay and a hotel really recommended.

I stayed at this hotel with work colleagues as it was cinvenient to where we needed to be for business. As soon as you walk into the hotel it has a feel of a traditional Chinese property. Big lobby with ornate fixtures and fittings, and a little bridge to take you to the restaurant and bar. The hotel is a little old fashioned, but still presented very smartly. For a traveller to Beijing the hotel is not central for leisure activities - a cab is required for any of the shops, restaurants or sites of Beijing. The exception is a small street you can walk to which has some local restaurants, and there is a very good Japanese restaurant just around the corner. The service in the hotel was nice and polite, English was quite good given that this is China, and the breakfast was a mix of local and many international dishes. Overall a pleasant stay.
