Very nice for business but soulless for culture seeking tourists. If you want efficiency, central location, service and good facilities then this is a great choice. For tourists, there are better options with a bit more character.More

Dear Charles R,
Thank you for choosing The Westin Beijing Financial Street and sharing your insights with us and others. We are happy to learn that our hotel complemented your trip here and left you with good impressions.
Though immediately surrounded by banks and corporate buildings, the hotel does place its guests at least relatively close to some of the city’s world famous attractions including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
Thank you again for your comments and recommendation, we wish you a most enjoyable festive season and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
My room was 11 celcious when I arrived and could not be fixed, I resorted to leaving the hair dryer on for 2 hours to try and heat the room. The sink was backed up and the water would not drain. The staff understood very little English which is surprising for an upscale international hotel. At dinner, it was a challenge just to order a glass of water - I had ordered a glass of Bordeaux and it was like vinegar, the bottle must have been open for weeks, so I had to send it back. At breakfast, again it was very difficult to order, my colleagues then ordered for me in Mandarin and even then they got the order wrong and forgot things. The wholewheat toast was white bread with food colouring in it and the scrambled eggs were a globby mess as they had added flour. Overall, it was not what I had expected at all even if it is Beijing.
Have stayed here a few times for trips to Beijing - generally it offers a comfortable stay to Westin standards although the front desk always seems busy and slightly chaotic. Rooms are fine and well equipped (and the bathroom is great with separate shower and bath), but on the small side (although the bed itself is very comfortable) and actually quite dark - if you arrive in the evenings you'll find yourself turning all the lights on and it was noticeable that they were starting to show signs of wear and tear. The breakfast buffet is excellent, although again the staff (whilst numerous) aren't particularly helpful and one morning I left my table to get something from the buffet and returned to my table to find I had a dining companion who was certainly a stranger. For some reason trying to get a taxi proved very difficult, in spite of the numerous doormen standing outside and when we tried to get to our destination the door man wasn't able to help the taxi driver (which was a surprise). Overall it's a decent business hotel, but you just feel it has let standards slip and needs to see how it could do everything just a bit better.
Thank you for sharing your experiences following your recent stay with us here on Trip Advisor.
Your observations regarding the restaurant and doorman’s services are well noted. Meanwhile we are glad that these drawbacks did not affect your overall good impressions.
We appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention and would certainly look forward to welcoming you back soon, in hope that we will have an opportunity to demonstrate enhanced services.
This was my first trip to China and wanted to stay off the crowded part. The westin financial street fit the bill. The rooms were quaint and very clean. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and attentive. We especially enjoyed each day being greeted by Kity!
Dear Alex W,
We feel honored that you chose The Westin Beijing Financial Street on your first trip to China and it is great to hear that our hotel added to your good first impressions, comfort and allowed for a good rest.
We will be sure to pass along your favorable comments to Kitty and the rest of our team as a great reminder to the quality of service we aim to provide to our guests everyday.
Thank you again for your comments and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back on your next visit to China.
My room was spacious, warm and certainly a different feel than standard downtown business hotel. Staff was extremely friendly greetings at the lobby, helpful and fun too. Breakfast was good quality and tasty. Bar was cozy too.
There are also nice local eateries across the road as well which for a western tourist may look dubious. However, people are friendly, food is very good and cost next to nothing. Hopefully I have soon possibility to go back to beijing and when I do, it is easy for me to choose a place to stay. I shall definitely stay at the Westin Hotel.
Thank you for sharing your pleasant experiences and recommendations with us and others on Trip Advisor.
We are grateful to take such rewarding feedback on board and are happy to hear the courtesy of our team, the breakfast spread and Buzz bar left you with good impressions.
Also we hope that you will have the possibility to travel to Beijing again soon and would certainly look forward to welcome you back to The Westin Beijing Financial Street.
Seems like a business hotel, always have groups here.
Nice room but furnitures are old, not fashion enough. Bed is comfortable, signature bed and shower. The location is very convenience for business trip, and near the city center, shopping mall and even Tiananmen Square.
Very good service at EX floor, happy hour is very attractive. Just wait too long for check out on EX floor.
Dear Lydia, L,
We are happy to hear of your experience with us and thank you for sharing your insights on Trip Advisor.
Thank you also for pointing out the lengthy check out time in our otherwise attractive Westin Executive Club Lounge. We apologize for this and will certainly look into this process based on your comments.
We are happy to hear that the location and surroundings suited you well and would look forward to welcome you back in the near future.
