I stayed here because I couldn't get an outgoing sleeper ticket. It's a few hundred feet from the ticket sales hall. Thanks to the reviewer below; I did not know that there were two Railway Hotels here.
The front desk spoke a tiny bit of English. Checking in after 7 PM, they gave me a small discount from the displayed rack rate. They accept foreign issued cards. The rooms are totally forgettable ordinary Chinese hotel rooms. In fact they've already blurred in with the others and can't recall any specifics. I was not bothered by the noise but then I had to check out to make my train at 6:24 AM. Like just about all Chinese hotel rooms, there is free cable internet.
I ate downstairs in their first floor restaurant, among the last guests. I was very impressed with the food, particularly one dish; Stir fried luffa and edamame. It's a pretty unusual dish. Since I love food, this goes a long way for me. They also did room service. I was able to avoid wandering around the chaos of the station area looking for food.
