Hotel is as all "excellent" reviews. 100% recommended. Excellent location but behind the Regent Hotel so no real views. Minor problem was the lack of taxis since the front is off the main road. Easier to walk about 100m past Starbucks to main road and hail.
Taxis had problems finding it even though it was marked on a map given to us. They need a better map for taxis.
Paid extra for a club room - worth it, particularly if you enjoy wine. Snacks were ok too.
Buffet breakfast included was way above average for a 4* hotel.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the club room - includes breakfast (excellent) and the 5.30-7.30pm happy hour. We stayed at 1010 overlooking the front.

I am totally biased towards Park Plaza hotels. I am familiar with some of them, and really enjoyed these hotels. So my husband and I booked this hotel for our trip to Beijing. It was really nice -very 'Park Plaza' style! The rooms are ample, clean, well decorated, with new and modern furniture. The location was perfect -walking distance to many shopping places, nearby other great hotels, surrounded by skyscrapers and yet so nicely landscaped that one does not feel claustrophobic. The service at Park Plaza is always so reliable -the concierge was attentive and extremely helpful. We had a minor medical emergency and were helped promptly by the concierge -they sent someone to get drugs for us as soon as we requested this assistance. The breakfast buffet was excellent -Asian and international dishes are cooked fresh and there is not a long waiting. The happy hour was also super nice. I highly recommend this hotel and this chain of hotels to everyone interested in a elegant yet understated hotel.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a club room. Room was spacious and clean. There was a rattling noise from the air conditioner which was fixed by the maintenance crew within 30 mins of making a call. Happy hour was good value with drinks and nibbles and a good chance to meet other travellers (I was on my own). Service from the concierge was excellent, from topping up my Chinese Mobile to ordering taxis. Location was fantastic, walking distance to Wangfujing Street and the night markets. Highly recommend staying here, and will happily return on my next trip to Beijing.

Excellent value for the money, rooms are clean and staff is helpful and speaks English well. Location is very convenient, the underground station is 50m away from the hotel. There is no reason to spend more money for a hotel in Beijing. The only negative one could remark is that the concierge service was only average. They offered only standard tours, not what individual tourist usually are looking for. Rather book the tours in advance or elsewhere.

This was our first hotel experience in China and was up there with the best. Great rooms, great service and a very helpful concierge. Our taxi driver found it a little difficult to find and tried to drop us off at the Regent which is next to the Park Plaza but once we were settled in we found it very easy to walk to the Wangfuging shopping area and once we mastered the subway (which was not difficult) it opened up all of the city with the subway entrance only a minute walk from the hotel. Nice bar in the lobby area but we should have taken up the offer of the upgrade which included a "happy hour" which most people do and we could have had more interaction with other guests. The room was great, the rates fine and it had a real 5 star feel to it. Would highly recommend this hotel. Only downside was no pool - although you can use the Regent's pool for 80RMB.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for the upgrade for the "happy hour".
