This was not on the recommended things to do in Beijing, yet I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a recreation of old Peking. The central road is wide and the alleys are narrow, clean and have lots of shops. They date back to over hundred years but stock touristy kitschy stuff. Yet the vibe is lovely. Food was plentiful. The road is easily accessible by public transport. Spent a couple of hours just strolling around in the sun and enjoying the ambience.
