Definitely this is the best party area in Beijing but at the other hand the most dirty one! but Beijing is like this! Crowded places, foreigners, Chinese, local food on the street, etc!! it's a must!

Have a lot of casual bars there but mostly are smokey esp. along the bar street.

Hop into one called First Floor. Ambiance is nice and relaxing but there are ppl smoking in the special designed "non-smoking" area. WTF.

I suggest to go here to have lunch, then go shop, try their street foods for afternoon snack, go to the bar, and wait for the night market.

The place near the bars are high end stores where you can burn your money for shopping.
If you are a thrifty, walk towards the main street and just at the outskirt of this busy central, you can find a building that sells fake & cheap goods. This building closes @ 8:00pm.

But if you want really really cheap stuff, walk a bit further away from the busy central, and look for the night vendors on the side streets. They sell right from their vans!
I bought a summer dress for only 10rmb and chinese wall decors @ 30rmb.

MUST BRING: Bottled water and an empty stomach. There's food everywhere.

The title says it all, just go. I can't tell you how much fun I have had there on countless outing. You meet Chinese people and foreigners alike there, everyone is just looking to have a fun time. A word of warning, there are a few people that might offer "cheap drinks" or "lady bars", I would stay away from that entirely. The best places are the ones that are not easy to find, but just walk around first before going into any one bar, and don't be afraid of trying a couple in one night.

At the south end, and now another area along the street further north, are the relativelty well-known Village shopping areas. 3.3 (a mall there) is horrendously overpriced! Don't stop there. Yashow Market is still over-priced (near the S end) but at the very least has shops where you can have things tailor made. 3.3 is pure rip-off: capitalizing on tourists who know no better. Things will be more expensive here than in NYC and the quality is among the worst you can find in the world. The bars are very shady here - go to nearby Gongti or stick to the bars that are located at the Village (South) itself. Those are fine, expensive but with good decor and drinks you'll recognize. Note! The little bars lining the street sell fake alcohol (marked with copied, identical labels) that can cause harm. Avoid the bars, but stop at the Village shopping center for your Western fix.
