Overpriced

I guess I was expecting something different as 90% of my friends are Italian from the Gambino’s to Palermo’s. I was expecting more traditional Italian dishes and much larger portions than the size of a quarter. If you go here hungry you will definitely leave hungry. After 4500rmb I left hungry and with a lot less money in my WeChat. On the way home, I stopped at Annie’s in the CBD and got my fix for a traditional Italian meal.
Wait staff was awesome and very attentive. Atmosphere was tastefully decorated and a great place for a romantic dinner.
I will not be back as this isn’t my style of food. I like the family style Italian meals.

Just great!!!

Have been there 4-5 times and it is always a hit. Chef Eugenio and his brigade work magic in this kitchen. Pasta and lobster were delicious, the pasta were cooked to perfection and the lobster melted in your mouth. To start with an array of fresh home breads and couple amuse bouche and finishing with some chocolates and petit fours. Stefano, the manager and Maître D’ recommended an amazing wine, his team is very detailed and anticipate your needs. You never have to ask for anything.
A must go!

Top-tier Italian restaurant in Beijing, amazing service

It is not the first time I visit Opera Bombana and I like to do it with high-profile business partners and associates as it is a great opportunity to offer a pleasant experience for my guests. This time I went for lunch with a business partner visiting from abroad and we had, as expected, a high level experience. I love seafood myself so I ordered some seafood and fish such as the tuna tartare (very fresh, impressive presentation!) and the mussels spaghetti (from France, delicious and creamy), however my guest ordered some meat too and I had the chance to have a try to his foie gras which was amazing. I have to say that I got struck by the culatello and gorgonzola truffle salad, and I have been told that this restaurant follows a strict policy for sourcing their truffle as chef Bombana is also known as the king of truffles.
Attentive wine pairing was provided by mr. Monte, who picked the right glass of wine for the two of us (eating different kind of food as I said), as well as careful wine service from the elegant ms. Battello, both genuinely Italian and experienced hospitality people. I am considering to go back for a romantic dinner with my other half Sasha for a special occasion...I am sure it would be a memorable experience.

Poor service

Had 3 course set lunch with a friend. Cost 299 per pax, price only available on wkdays. Nice ambience, presentation of food typical of Italian restaurant. But chicken main course was extremely salty and over cooked. I provided feedback to the manager who asked me what I want and took away the half eaten chicken.. I told him that I wanted nothing. Felt it was a bit odd to ask customer what they want when they give feedback. Other upmarket restaurants that I have been, giving a more genuine service recovery would be to offer a small goodwill gesture eg. desert, fruit etc even when customer does not need anything. It is the gesture that matters not the value of the item and also to appreciate feedback. He did not even thank me for my feedback!

First and foremost, please allow us to apologize for the unpleasant experience that you had gone through when visiting us.

It is through listening our customers, that we are able to reflect and to correct ourselves, so that we will be able to provide a more refined hospitality and satisfactory performance to our guests.

According your feedback, you mentioned “only available” on weekdays. This is our set lunch from Monday to Friday 198 Net per person for 2 courses or 298 Net per person for 3 courses plus 1 glass of our daily wine and espresso or tea included. You can have a choice of 4 appetizer (Daily Soup, Parma Ham, Fritto Misto or Seafood Soup), 4 main Course (Cavatelli, Chicken, Halibut or Beef Tenderloin) and 3 Dessert (Fruit Plate, Cheese plate or Ice Cream.) For Seafood soup and Tenderloin the guest has to add 88 RMB.

Dear GLL555, we offer the option to change your chicken with the other main courses but we got refused from you. For our set lunch we use the same ingredients that we use for a la carte menu…What else would you like to have?
Sorry I forget, we also provide you complementary petit four. Maybe it’ s not enough.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment we have caused.

We do hope you can give us an opportunity in the future to redeem ourselves and offer enjoyable meals experience for you.

Attentive service, decadent dining

My travelling business party visited on our last evening in China before the return home. After 10 days in China, we wanted a taste of nearer home!
The quality of the food, and wine, were simply excellent, I honestly forgot that I was in China, I was convinced I was in Modena...
