Easily the coolest thing I have ever seen and done. I would come back if I am ever lucky enough and pictures do it no justice! Only tip would be to skip the harassing vendors on the way down as quickly as you can!

Visiting the wall at Mutianyu is a great experience. We were there during the spring festival and it was almost deserted, but even during non-festive periods it should be less crowded than Bandaling. Take the slide ride down - it is great fun!

Awe-inspiring. Did I mention awe-inspiring? There is no single moment in our travels that, for me, matches the moment you ascend the marble steps, some 2600 ft above sea level, to see the Great Wall stretch out for miles before your eyes. January. Cold. Nobody but you. It is a humbling experience.

It is a highlight of our trip in China in spite of code weather. We went to both Badaling section and Mutianyu and this part is absolutely better. You'd better take table car to save time and energy. My wife and girl love it too and we have a great time here. Next time, we will visit it again at a better season.

We visited in July on the day of the historical flood in Beijing. We were oblivious to the floods but we got drenched. Despite that, the trip was spectacular. The wall was shrouded in mist which added to the adventure and mystery. Because of the rain, the wall was nearly empty so we had plenty of space to explore at our own pace. We took the cable car up and down. By chance, on the trip down we rode in the car occupied by Bill Clinton during his visit in the 1990s.
