Reception staff were rude and unhelpful, just handed over the key and didnt want to explain anything in regards to hotel services, where anything was located in the hotel or to help with luggage. Business centre and flight booking centre staff were also not willing to help us with our basic enquiries. Internet only worked in the lobby which was ice cold due to lack of heating. There were people smoking inside the hotel lounge . Beds were so hard that we had back pain. Staff not able to speak or understand English. This is not a 5 star hotel according to western standards. The variety of restaurants within the hotel was good and there was heating on the breakfast buffet level. The staff in the restaurants were helpful

Room Tip: Try not to get a room near the lift as there is alot of noise from the lift bell and people coming and going at all times

We had a Nexus tour package 10 days in China. We stayed 3 nights at the Jade Palace. It was ok hotel but not 5 stars. The hotel is modern but outdated. The carpet 10th floor elavator area needed to be steamed cleaning! smell was awful. Wifi is only available in lobby area and breakfast room.
-Walmart is 10 mins by foot and there is also a subway right next to it
-The hotel is located on a very busy road.
- Downtown takes 45 min by metro.
- Don't speak well english. This hotel is mainly used by tour groups and most of them are mainly Chinese.

This hotel needs a renovation. The beds are definitely very, very hard. The bathroom was a good size however water leaked from the shower. There was a good supply of hot water with adequate pressure. The shower also showed wear and tear and some mold. The buffet breakfast was acceptable but certainly nothing special. The location of the hotel is also too far from the center of the city.

Just came back from my 7 nights at the Jade Palace. It is rated 5 stars which is probably not the case in western standards. The hotel was chosen by our tour group. Myself, husband and my 3 yr old stayed at the hotel. The room is spacious and yes the beds are really hard which most Chinese actually likes to sleep on. The bed is like sleeping on a box spring. I was not crazy about the bed but my husband didn't mind the firm bed. The rooms are kept clean and yes the shower stall is not installed the best way but with a towel it does wipe up the wet floors. The in room safe is confusing to use so we didn't bother with it. My 3 yr old like the room as there was enough space for him to jump around. The morning breakfast is ok and luke warm. We dined in 2 restaurants, the food was good and priced cheap compared to Canadian pricing. The dim sum is recommended and the dumplings we son really enjoyed. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is pretty close to the airport about 30 min drive pending on traffic.

This hotel is ok, however takes 40 mins by metro to downtown.
Cost $95 US a night. It is close the Chinese academy of science, summer palace and birdnest . Otherwise far away fom everywhere.

Breakfast is ok, has not have lots of choices. Room is big, it has in rom cable.
