The Park, which is used by the Chinese community, has amazing views over The Forbidden City at its highest point.

We visited on a Sunday and the place was buzzing. Groups of singers competing with each other (mostly badly and loudly) as well as dancers and others doing gym. It is very worthwhile - lovely gardens, people to watch - and the climb to the temple overlooking the Forbidden City is well worth it. The pollution was off putting - the green hills to the west described in my guidebook were a murky haze - but it is worth a visit.

Nice view over the forbidden city on a good day and not as crowded as many other sites in Beijing. Definitely worth a climb !

Must-visit if at Forbidden City.

This place offers the best views of forbidden city. Plan to finish your forbidden city tour by evening and reach here before dusk and stay until dark.

Not popular with local tourists so it is possible to get some peace and quite along with spectacular views of not just Forbidden City but of the city of Beijing and the Back Lakes.

In fact if I knew then what I know now I would not have entered Forbidden city at all...just enjoyed it from Jingshan Park.

A nicely tended park, we didn't see all of it but loved the view over forbidden city. Quite stunning. We also visited a pavillion where some elders played and sang. We had a bit bad weather so I'm sure we had seen more had it not rained so.
I took my chances on getting a massage from an old man and received a nice neck / upper back massage for 20 yuan, which I'm sure is way above what the locals would pay, but still cheap by our standards
