Owner description: Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 290-acre park is still a retreat for the crowd-weary tourist, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, stopping occasionally at a shop or tea-house.

While this is definitely worth the visit due to how unique the setting, it was disappointing that the original palace was destroyed and this is a much less majestic reconstruction. The covered corridor with the paintings was really the highlight to us. Amazing artwork.

An immense park, and yet it was so filled with people on this national holiday that at times it was difficult to walk the paths! I would have appreciated a few signs indicating ways out of the park, as there is no fixed itinerary, and if you don't have a good sense of direction you may well go round

Must be a beautiful place, and the history was interesting but the air quality was so poor you couldn't see the half way across the lake or the architecture on the mountain top. Very crowded too, but that would've been ok if there was anything to see.
