“Nice, but not spectacular”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We visited this site after a long day of touring the Forbidden City, so it had a lot to live up to. It is an impressie structure and, unlike other Chinese historical buildings, has been well restored. But it pales in comparison to the Forbidden City, so I would recommend that it be visited on a different day to get the full effect. There is also a museum associated with the site, which details some of the techniques involved with pagoda construction. I found this display interesting, but somewhat disjointed in its presentation.

There is also a fantastic view of Beijing from the Temple, but unless you manage to visit on one of the few clear days you will not see much of the city. The walk to and from the temple is also interesting, as you will pass by literally hundreds of Chinese card players enthusiastically enjoying this pastime. Also, there were several amature singing groups displaying their talents on the day that we visisted.

Overall, this is a worthwhile excursion, just don't set your expectations too high.

“Okay to have been there.”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

There are so many temples and places to see. Worth a visit? Yes. Interesting Yes too. One of the temple building has a museum which gives you details of various emperors with displays of artifacts. Have to be a real history buff to get into that as China had a lot of emperor and a long history. After a while, the names and facts just become a blur. Beautiful building though as is the entire complex. Nice place just to walk around on a warm and sunny day. Not too crowded when we visited in October.

“This Temple is so nice.”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

I go here with my friend or with my family often. Already. It is nice and i think it is good for the tourist to see the temple. Many photos you make or you can relax there because it is not loud. It is silent. I am not sure I go there in april again. Maybe I like to go.

“A nice place to walk”

you'll be disappointed with the quality of the restoration work. Looks really great until you get up close. Good place to walk around and ticket photos
