Seen the Temple of Heaven on countless Beijing postcards. Absolutely worth the trip there. Buy the all-inclusive ticket and go early to avoid the crowds - spent some time in the surrounding park and it was fascinating to see the locals line-dancing, playing various forms of sports, singing, exercising, etc.

“Underrated, do not miss it”

This is an awesome sight along with the park. It is very underrated and nobody goes that. The temple itself is fantastic and well preserved.

The scale of the wonders of ancient China - this is what makes a place like this unfogettable, and a privilege to visit

“Should be # 1 on the Beijing list”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

You will find this on the cover of guidebooks for a reason- it is simply magnificient!

My best advise is to plan to devote 3 - 4 hours to explore here. I saw too many tour groups wisking thru, stopping just long enough to snap a picture before moving on to the main buildings. The entire park is beautiful, and if you can give it an enitre morning it will be a morning very well spent indeed.

Enter from the North Gate into the park for the best approach. The subway drops you over by the East Gate... so if you go by taxi, ask for the main entrance at the top.
