Owner description: This two-story arched wooden structure once held 25 drums which, in combination with bells in the Bell Tower, were once used to indicate the time of day. Only one drum remains today, which is beaten four times a day for 15 minutes.

The combo ticket to Drum n Bell Towers cost rmb40. Just the Drum Tower is Rmb 30. There is just the bell display in the bell tower so I'd pushed for time, just go for the Drum Tower with drums oerformance. It's loud and great. Just be prepared for the long steep climb to the top. Great photo opportunity on a clear day.

Worth visiting on a clear day as the views are fantastic. Located in a fantastic are with plenty to and visit around the two towers. Drumming performance is worth seeing!. Long and steep steps to get up!

This is an interesting photographic op if you can get there when they do a performance simply ask the attendants there and they will let you know when the next performance is.

One of the many sites of historic significance in Beijing. We had a local guide, driver and car for the day to visit several "attractions". It was relatively inexpensive and a great way to see much more in a limited time. The local guide was very informative, giving us a complete history of the towers and their significance. While most of the drums in the drum tower are not original, the replicas are impressive. There were a few of the original drums, weather by time.

There are steep stairs, so if you have mobility issues the towers would be best viewed from street level.
