“Good location, very clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We stayed here one night when we went home via Beijing. We wanted to make the best use of the time, and this hotel was the perfect choice.

It is about 5 minutes walk to Wangfujing. We ate Beijing Duck at Quanjude, walked around a little bit. Then we decided to walk to the forbidden city, and it took about 20 minutes. Isn't it very nice that everything is within the walking distance? The hotel is right at city center, but in a quiet street.

Our room is clean. The concierge service is great.

The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beijing has an excellent location - it is in a shopping mall, it is next to Tiananmen Square, close to forbidden city and right opposite MOFCOM. It is best for people travelling for business, if the meetings are in the main city. Even silk street is very close, just a 5-10 mins by taxi. The food is good and Cafe at the lobby has good options for snacks. Concierge was very helpful as well with all translation requirements for directions.

The room has been designed very well, with all the possible client requirements addressed. I felt the room was little smaller than other comparable hotels. Overall, a great hotel and a must repeat one too.

Yeah, it's got a bit of the convention hotel feel, but we had a very nice room (paid up a small amount at check-in for a suite). Very convenient location; walk to Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City as well as the subway, Wangfujing shopping street (and atop the Oriental Plaza shopping mall). Large, well appointed health club. The pool is unique: think Wisconsin Dells in the basement. But it's a nice place to kill an hour or so. As much as I liked the hotel, I wasn't a fan or the restaurants; tried both and was underwhelmed. Find someone to direct you to a local place (we liked Meizhou Dongpo, about six blocks away) for better food at better prices. Overall, as a hotel I'd give it a 5 out of 5

Thank you for taking the time to write such a fantastic review of our hotel on Trip Advisor, can I felt humbled by the fact you gave us "5 out of 5"....

Thank you for highlighting the many key feature and aspects of the hotel, it is a real shame you di not like our restuarant selection, particularly our "Made in China" restuarant which serves very authentic Northern Chinese cuisine, including the famous wood baked Peking Duck.

We do hope to be able to have you as our guest again in the near future.

this is a really great hotel. fabulous location - great food - nice rooms - and from the executive floors a killer lounge (bkfst, happy hour... all gratis and excellent). the only downer was that the free internet is only for 3 days.

The hotel was minutes away from Wangfujin and Tiananmen. There was a shopping mall attached to the hotel with a food court and several restaurants and fast food outlets. Shops are mostly high-end.

The staff from the hotel manager to the service staff were very efficient. There was a service staff on rotation from Holland who remembered that my colleagues love coffee and would come in and check if they want some when he comes on duty. Any issues that we had were handled instantly.

The room was typical of all Grand Hyatt standard. The chambermaids did a good job and the cleanliness were uniformed throughout the 1-week stay.

We had dinner at "Made in China" and the Peking Duck was absolutely delicious, and the service was good. We also had lunch at "Noble Court" and, although the food was also good, the service was very slow and we had to keep chasing for our food to be served.

Overall a nice hotel which I would go back again if I am in Beijing.

Our first experience of China was such a positive one while staying at the Grand Hyatt. We arose at 5am and strolled down the street to Tian'anmen Square to watch the flag raising ceremony at dawn. returning to a generous breakfast. A wonderful beginning for an adventure in Beijing. One key features of this hotel are the wonderful staff who were happy to coach us as we learned a little Chinese.
Excellent food inside the hotel in the various restaurants, brilliant location for all of the big sights and attractions. Most walking distance or a short cab ride. Just ask for help. The staff here are superb.
