“Friendly staff - clean lite outdated rooms”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2014 via mobile

The major minus if you are on a business trip is that this hotel does not have Wifi in the room (at least my room) only wired internet. The room itself is clean and spacious. The shower was good and constant hot water. The interior of the room was sufficient but beginning to show some signs of decay. The hotel is close to metro line 10. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Stayed here for a week, 11th to 17th December. The rooms are of a fair size though dated with stained carpets, seemed clean though and the internet access very intermittent in the rooms: gave up downloading email attachments for work. The breakfast buffet was excellent with English cooked, viennoiseie, German/Dutch cold meats and cheese, good Chinese of course as well as bread pudding, which certainly a colleague enjoyed. Didn't eat in the restaurants but nearby by the embassy district about 10 minutes by taxi (not all drivers wanted to take us the short distance to the hotel so be prepared)

Room Tip: I stayed on the inner side (away from the ring road) above a police training centre which was very g...

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. It is a good place to stay and leaves upto the expectation of a 4* hotel. The breakfast was good. The hotel ambience is good, with spacious lobby. What was important to us was the nearby food street - gifted with indian & Arabian eateries too. Internet was free - good speed as expected in Beijing.

We were here on a tour of china with mercury direct
The room stank of smoke did not realise that smoking was allowed in rooms so ask for the non smoking floors
Breakfast was very good
Bed was like sleeping on a park bench
Cleanliness let it down as well
Reception staff were very good.

Stayed in this hotel from 24th to 29th November 2013. It is conveniently located and the rooms were good. The staff too was cordial and hospitable. The breakfast buffet was very good with lot of varieties. Overall a very good stay.

This was quite a nice hotel and the room that we had was nice and comfortable, it was located on the 7th floor. The food was satisfactory, plenty of variation and well presented. The downside was that there was no bar area to sit and have a few drinks at the end of the day having been sight-seeing during the daytime. Also the Chinese staying at the hotel turn a blind eye to any to any smoking rules that are generally in force.

Room Tip: Suggest higher floor mainly to take advantage of the good views.

The Landmark Towers doesn't make a good first impression, but stick with it and you'll find hidden gems everywhere.

The first room (Supreme class) offered to us was dreadful; small, smoky, dirty bathroom. After a lengthy negotiation with the front desk we were upgraded to a larger, clean room (Deluxe) with a King bed on a non-smoking floor. A good nights sleep (very quiet room and turns out, very comfortable) and a delicious breakfast later, we were feeling better about the Landmark Towers.

Wifi is available although spotty in the rooms; head for the dining area for fast, uninterrupted connections.

The staff was gracious and helpful during our stay; housekeeping was extremely attentive and quick to respond. The breakfast buffet is bountiful and if it's not covered in your room price, it's worth the extra cost.

In addition to the Evergreen Dining Room, there are several other options a few steps away. The Jackpot Cafe is an excellent choice for a quick, tasty, inexpensive lunch and they're open 24 hours. There is a small Starbucks in the business tower behind the hotel and the adjacent Sheraton has a top-of-the-tower,fine-dining restaurant featuring excellent Chinese dishes that we enjoyed on our final night. Gorgeous views of the skyline!

The location is convenient with a Metro station a 10-minute walk away and the very trendy shopping/eating area of Sanlitun is a brisk 20-minute walk down Embassy Row (enjoy strolling by the young, stern, at-attention soldiers guarding each gate but remember, no pictures)

Our five-night stay was enjoyable and I'm glad we gave the Landmark a deeper look. Make sure to walk through the lobby and enjoy the art gallery upstairs, the lovely sitting area and have a relaxing "tea set" while a player piano serenades from the corner.
