“Convenient for business and leasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

Glad to have chosen this hotel for my business trip. Perfect location - very close to main city attranctions and shops, not too much trublles with traffic around. It is a pitty the hotel includes also a small shopping mall and atract public. It looses its intimity of the service. Room is OK to stay and work for one person and very cozy. Great value for money - allthough there was the Autoshow in this time - we got the room half price oppose the 4 star hotels closer to Exhibition center. Nice selection at breakfast as well as in the restaurant. Food is of a good quality. Just reception was busy nearly all the time so waiting there for check out, money exchange or anyting else took a bit of time.

Very good location, walking distance to the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square and the shops. Very modern hotel with beautiful interior design. Conceirge were very good and all spoke excellent English. The spa and swimming pool were well maintained and were very relaxing.
We had an excellent trip to the Great Wall of China organised by the hotel; it was a day I will never forget. Michael, the guide was the best I have ever had.
I took the children on a tour of the Hutong area by Rickshaw, another favourite but be prepared to barter over the price. Beijing Zoo was a big disappointment, very old and not well maintained.
To conclude, I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed four nights late January at The Peninsula Beijing. Everything is first class. The spa and pool area is wonderful with the most charming attendants. Location is within walking distance to most of the major attractions in Beijing with the subway system within a five minute walk to access other attractions. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Great staff and attention with the concierge offering help in very good english to assist in daily outings. Caution: In the winter the street sidewalks around the hotel are very slippery as they are made of some sort of porcelain tile, not concrete. Not sure who's brilliant idea that was, but with a little snow or frost, the sidewalks become very treacherous. No reason to look elsewhere in Beijing - We would definitely return.

My wife and I arrived after a long flight from the UK. Right from the welcome at the door through to our room,we felt appriciated. The front desk guy explained everything to us in perfect English, he took us to our room and again explained how everything worked, bell boys with our luggage were right behind him, just like clockwork. The room was a little small and ready for a re-furbish, but it was clean and comfortable, this is a traditional style hotel in my view, which is what I expected and enjoyed, what more do you want. The food in the restaurant was excellant as was the breakfast buffet, the hotel location is good for central Beijing. Our overall impression was that we were made to feel important and valued

loved this hotel! The staff are very helpful and attentive. The pool lovely and clean and very relaxing. The location excellent, close to walk to the main street, Tianamen Sq, Forbidden Palace and Subway station. The breakfast was fantastic, everything you can think of and the service 5 star. While there it was my birthday and the hotel sent a birthday cake to our room, a lovely touch. I enjoyed my stay here and would love to return one day!

they lost my stuff while cleaning up my room, though they compensated me by airport transfer .
but i strongly feel like they don't admit this was their fault by every conversation and i learnt that their compensation is far more valuable their my stuff which made me very uncomfortable.
i only suggest you all beware of your belongings when you choose this hotel.

We visited the hotel twice. The first visit was also our first visit to China and Beijing was then our first destination too.We booked a duplex suite which was wonderful but could not really enjoy it since we were too excited by the sightseeing we've been doing around. For example we never went to the club lounge, went only once to the swimming pool etc.
This time we booked the duplex suite again but thoroughly enjoyed the very good club lounge, the excellent and exteremely attentive service given from the whole team(especialy dear Lendam), had dinner twice at their beautifully decorated chinese restaurant and enjoyed the food very much ,enjoyed the swimming pool as a very relaxing area and also the spa. At the spa I had a foot massage which was intermidiate but a "deep tissue" massage with excellent!!! Tina that was really stupendous.
There are two things that might be better if they were improved though. Firstly, the breakfast.Although it was very good it was a little boring for a week stay because of a lack of variety.Secondly, there is not a regular lobby with places to sit and hang around. There is a small sitting area by bar but you need to order a drink to sit there and if for example you just want to sit and relax with your shopping bags, or sit with your kids you do not have where…you just need to go straight to your room.
By the way the exchange services given at the hotel are very good since the rate is the same as the banks in Wangfujing street.
Last huge benefit of this hotel is its location.Very very comfortable to access by taxi and also by subway and buses and also the whole area is very beautiful and lively.
Really recommend it. Go and enjoy.

Room Tip: The duplex suites are very spacious and decorated very beautifully . There is an option for a couple...
