Among the premier international hotel brands, the St Regis is one of the oldest in Beijing. As a result, the rooms and facilities are a bit old-style and even dated. The restaurants are kind of OK-to-mediocre. So the place lacks buzz and sometimes looks deserted. However, they have a great spa (with natural hot springs for the jacuzzis!) and gym, outstanding service (with the unbeatable St Regis butler service), and they offer a better price than the newer 6-star hotels. An oasis of calm fitting for the old diplomatic area where the hotel is located.
