The St. Regis is a very great hotel. The service is the best. I love the butler service that helped unpack and get everything ordered when I arrived. The attention to detail was wonderful. I am a real fanatic about bathrooms and bathtubs. It was perfectly clean in every way. The bathtub in the deluxe king room was spacious and the controls were perfect for long soaks. The other features in the bathroom like the TV, bidet and options on the shower controls suit my wishes. The mattress could have been more supportive and the water did not get flaming hot. Other than those issues, they really put experienced traveler features everywhere.

My wife and I travel worlwide frequently and extensively....I am especially aware of my surroundings and the services afforded by both the facility and personnel.....In a word I am discriminating (AKA "Fussy")...... This property has it down. The rooms, restaurants, staff and amenities are as close to flawless as one can imagine. There is a very minor language problem occasionally and every effort is made to compensate for this. Obviously, the service, quality, and level of personal attention are outstanding....This property and its staff if you go beyond the basic check-in clerks contrast sharply with many hotels in China claiming to be comparable. As a rule they do not even come close. The location is also tops and as near as you want to be to most points of major interest.

Room Tip: Make it a point to talk directly with the front desk or reservations manager if you have any concern...

Beijing is a very busy, crowded city. Staying at the St. Regis was wonderful reprieve from the noise and crowds. We had a small suite which was lovely. Prior to our arrival I had requested a fan in our room and it was waiting for us when we checked in. The staff was excellent, although we are not high maintenance. The breakfast buffet was rather expensive, but it had a large array of both Chinese and Western dishes. The one negative that surprised us was the the light colored material on the booth seats were very dirty and stained. I had to put a napkin on my seat to ensure that I could sit on a clean surface. It definitely did not seem up to St. Regis standards.
The TV in the bathroom mirror, although a conversation piece was kind of unnecessary.
In the evening, the Press Bar had complimentary drinks and snacks which we really enjoyed.

Walking distance from the St. Regis was the Silk Market which we felt had the best shopping that we encountered on our trip. We wish that we had known it at the time because some items we did not encounter again and wish we had bought more as gifts.

Overall, the St. Regis, Beijing was a real treat.

Hectic locations need a hotel where you can leave the city at the door, where you can escape into your own world, in the company of yourself and your thoughts, and where you miss nothing. The St. Regis is such a hotel in Beijing, located in a quiet area which, to no surprise, is also the home for many foreign embassies. The hotel strives to ensure they deliver everything you may need, from attractive room furnishings to refreshing spa services, from the kind fruit bowl left in your room to the scent of fresh cut flowers at the entrance, and their butler service, more a statement than a real need, creates a solid human connection between you and the hotel. Luxurious, not inexpensive, may be just what you need if you need to escape and seek asylum when the city becomes oppressive.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in August 2012 and we expected nothing but the high standard of service and quality The St. Regis worldwide pride herself on. And from the moment we stepped in the lobby we were not let down by our expectations. Have worked in Beijing for some years and visited the dining venues of The St. Regis Beijing for a couple of times, this was my first stay in the renowned hotel on JianGuoMen DaJie.
Check-in was friendly and efficient and when we got up to our floor we were met by our butler who escorted us to our upgraded(!) suite and assisted us throughout the stay.
Prior to arriving to Beijing I unfortunately caught a nasty food poisoning, which kept me tied to the hotel for some days. However, the Front Desk staff was friendly enough to recommend a Chinese apothecary across the street for relieving medicines. And although my condition was below par, I was glad I stayed in The St. Regis, just to know you will be taken well care of.
Breakfast was of high quality and being an F&B professional myself, I appreciate when focus is being laid on quality rather than quantity on a breakfast buffet. The chef was there every morning himself to walk around and check.
Overall we truly enjoyed our stay and the facilities and we will definitely be back in good health to visit the rest of the beautiful sights Beijing has to offer.

Stayed here for the last few days of our China adventure. Bellhop brought our bags and opened our room, within moments the Butler was there to offer his services (unpacking, coffee, tea, ironing). We took advantage of the evening wine event in their bar. Rooms are decent size with couch, large desk, tub and separate shower, tv in the bathroom mirror and an electronic toilet seat. Linens were comfy, towels large. Ordered coffee each morning and it was there within ten minutes. We took the subway to many attractions which was only a ten minute walk.

Room Tip: Our room had no view (seventh floor), but it was quiet.
