“I was unpleasantly surprised.”

I have stayed in other Sheratons. I really expected more. The look of the place, that is the front lobby was dark and uninviting. The Atrium area was open and went up at least five stories. It also was dark. Had the look of an old night club. Rooms OK, but the hallways look better than the rest of the building. They have wifi, but only in the lobby area. Had to leave my room at 3AM to call home, send texts, etc. (twelve hour time difference for me) Every time you stepped outside the building, you had to log back in with a user number and code number when you returned. I have stayed in hotels with a much lesser reputation that had wifi available everywhere in the building and when you logged in, you only had to do it once. If you left the building area, service dropped, but when you returned, service came up again automatically. Service in the lobby was spotty and dropped, requiring me to log in again and again.
Breakfast buffet was good, about average for China. All in all, I expected a little more.
Really needs some work. Staff was good. They have an internet/ business center. Internet slow and cost high. If I recall it was 25 Yuan for 15 minutes. My usage came to 37.50 Yuan for one short session.

This hotel has certainly passed its glory days: While it surely must have been a wonder-world in the 1980's it seems nothing has changed since then. Compared to other business hotels in China, this one looks rather shabby, worn off and could relly use a modernization from top to bottom.
The rooms were quite ok, a bit stuffy with "2nd-hand air" from the aircon. Carpets quite worn off, bathroom shows clear sins of heavy usage over the years.
It's quite comfortable hotel to stay for a few nights, but would not be my favourite choice for a next visit.

I stayed 5 nights in The Great Wall Sheraton with my family. Unfortunately, it seems that the hotel is quite lax with the 'No Smoking' policy as there were several nights when some of the rooms were smoking and stinked up the entire corridor and central aircondition system. The horrible cigarette stench and smoke continued despite several complains to guest services and the assistant manager desk. As one of my children is asmathic, she obviously sufferred the most. In summary, a lot of catching up with the rest of the Sheraton pack...

As has been mentioned over and over, this is such an outdated hotel. No complaints though given the price. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. I think they should really work on their infrustractures

I was here in this hot summer and the air-condition was working like a turtle, my room was old and small, the wifi was weak and the service of the service people are NOT professional at all although they might try to help you, the food in the Chinese restaurant on the top floor was poor and expensive, they must learn how to be a Sheraton!

Room Tip: Please ask for a big and air-condition workable room before you check-in.

The hotel is in of total reburishment since opening in 1984. It is probably the oldest (4-5 start hotel in Beijing). Rooms are below standard. I had to change a room because the toilet is leaking. I am in bewilderment on why the highest level membership level within the SPG program cannot be upgraded to the Elite floor. The manager was not willing to disclose who could make the decision on who decides on the upgrades. The rooms do not have wifi and has to install a router. The gym equipment is in a sorry state....no upgrade in more than a decade. I will strongly suggest that Sheraton stop managing this hotel as it is diluting its brand.

The hotel is located close to the heartland of the city. It is convenient to airport and subway station. The room is clean and the staff are friendly. The facility itself is however outdated. They got TV from the last century - a motel does better than this.
