“Learn to be a Sheraton!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

I was here in this hot summer and the air-condition was working like a turtle, my room was old and small, the wifi was weak and the service of the service people are NOT professional at all although they might try to help you, the food in the Chinese restaurant on the top floor was poor and expensive, they must learn how to be a Sheraton!

Room Tip: Please ask for a big and air-condition workable room before you check-in.

The hotel is in of total reburishment since opening in 1984. It is probably the oldest (4-5 start hotel in Beijing). Rooms are below standard. I had to change a room because the toilet is leaking. I am in bewilderment on why the highest level membership level within the SPG program cannot be upgraded to the Elite floor. The manager was not willing to disclose who could make the decision on who decides on the upgrades. The rooms do not have wifi and has to install a router. The gym equipment is in a sorry state....no upgrade in more than a decade. I will strongly suggest that Sheraton stop managing this hotel as it is diluting its brand.

The hotel is located close to the heartland of the city. It is convenient to airport and subway station. The room is clean and the staff are friendly. The facility itself is however outdated. They got TV from the last century - a motel does better than this.

Stayed there for 3 nights in early September with my wife and in laws.
Must say that we were not very satisfied by the rooms as a Sheraton should have a minimum standard.
Water marks in the ceeling, worn down bathroom, bathtub that did not seal up the drain plug, molded silicone etc.
The staff could never help us to get a mobile SIM card for China or where to buy it.
Location OK.

This hotel was arranged by Tour agency, is an very outdated old hotel. Will rank it as a 4 star with a 3 star breakfast, stayed there for 7 nights, breakfast is everyday the same, fried mee is hard and cold, and sometimes even the coffee machine is out of order.. and lipstick stain on the drinking glass !!!
Well, the room is consider clean, but pls look out for the steel heater inside the kettle , is rusty....
Water heater is cold at 5 am , still need to wait for water to heat up !!!
Can stay there if really don't mind the above, but is a no for me.

This hotel is dated. It is not really fancy hotel. But I like this kind of old hotel. If I describe in one word, this hotel is "practical"hotel.Price is very reasonable and I have stayed 4 times so far .They always upgrade me to nice suite as SPG platinum.I am sure that I will stay there again.

This is one of the older properties amongst the “top hotels” grouped in Beijing. The Chaoyang district location must have been the right choice because now there is a Westin, a Renaissance, a Hilton, and a Kempinski, all around the Liangmaqiao (Line 10) metro station (one stop from the airport express train, very convenient.) If you have a taxi to / from the airport, it is on the northeast side of the city and therefore less affected by traffic snarls.
Check- in staff were efficient and friendly. My room was large and well- maintained. The closet and bathroom were a bit small but adequate. Everything worked well. Linens and towels were good. The room had an English mains plug for the hair dryer, which cannot be used in the bathroom, so it is located at the work desk. I guess that nobody told them that even England has sorted out ground fault outlets in the bathroom. There must be a theft problem there, as there was a price list with pretty much everything in the room on it. Very curious.
The breakfast selection was very large and the quality was good – excepting the fresh fruits. There was an egg chef and plenty of local food choices.
Walking there from the metro stop: You will not see a Sheraton sign until you are well past the entrance! Turn left into the Landmark Hotel complex, and the Sheraton is on the right.
All in all a very good value for the area – much more reasonably priced that the competition.
