I found The China Guide through Tripadvisor after a few personal referrals failed to pan out. Whereas other tour guides or companies took days to return my inquiries, Sarah at The China Guide responded immediately. Sarah was always extremely clear and responsive in her communications. I wanted to vary our itinerary from The China Guide's suggested two day Beijing tour and Sarah assured me that it would be no problem. I also booked our airport transfers and the Chaoyang Acrobat Show through Sarah. When I asked about which seats to pick for the show, Sarah gave me an honest answer and we had great seats for less than I was initially prepared to pay.

Our tour guide Erik was also fantastic. He was waiting for us at the airport and made us feel comfortable right away. He is obviously an experienced tour guide and was able to give us the history and background of the sites that we saw as well as give us an idea of life today in Beijing. Erik was always prompt, considerate and thorough and had a great sense of professionalism. He let us direct where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do even though he has seen the monuments of Beijing many times over and might have his own opinions. Erik is also an interesting person, having worked and lived all over China.

All in all, we had a wonderful experience in Beijing and we owe most of it to the outstanding service we received from Sarah and Erik at The China Guide.

We ordered 3 tickets to the Kung Fu show through The China Guide and were very impressed with their professionalism and service. In particular, Alice Wang was exceptional to communicate with. She went above and beyond to help us get an amazing price for the tickets, communicate to the taxi driver in chinese, and even help us get to a dinner place after the show. A++

My group of three spent nine days in China in May. We utilized the services of The China Guide during our visits to Beijing and Shanghai. Our itinerary was easily customized and we were able to get an extraordinary value. We were able to see the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Shanghai Museum, Jin Mao Tower, Old Town Shanghai and other sites, all while having great guides that were fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. They made our trip very easy, efficient and fun. If you are visiting China for the first time and want to see the sights I highly recommend using this company. The efficiency, knowledge, and time savings are well worth the price. This group is very accommodating and even helped us when we missed a flight on a leg of our journey. There was always comfort in knowing that you had someone to call to help!

We thank the China Guide and especially Jenny Jing for excellent planning for a complicated trip. We were four people meeting in China to tour for a month touring Shanghai / Suzhou, Guilin / Yangshuo, Beijing, Xi'an, and Lhasa Tibet, with a side trip to Dalian. We began our planning with two other agencies but were unhappy with both prices and responsiveness. We then began to work with the China Guide and from the start received great service! Jenny / the China Guide arranged internal transportation, hotels and attractions, and set us up with Spanish-speaking guides (that was the common language of the four). The guides were great--knowledgeable and courteous. They ranged from older to younger and from serious to extremely funny. The drivers were terrific, too. It was unbelievable to watch them safely negotiate narrow passageways and crowded avenues. We had no problems at all while driving. In terms of accommodations, we requested a variety of hotels and were able to experience quite a range--from rustic to elegant. Our meals also ranged from simple local fare to multi-course banquets. Through the planning process (which took months and involved several major changes), Jenny was kind and patient. She responded to emails within a day or two, and she didn't hesitate to make suggestions for additions (or more often than not--subtractions). When we tried to cram too many activities into too little time, she was very clear about what to do and what not to do. Such advice is invaluable, and we feel very fortunate to have found our way to the China Guide and Jenny Jing. We heartily recommend them. Excellent value, excellent service!
