If you want a change from Chinese cuisine, or if you have never tried New Orleans dishes, this is a great choice in Beijing. The menu is quite varied and there is a good selection of cocktails. The owner/chef is from Louisiana, so this is the real deal. We spent a lovely summer evening sipping bourbon cocktails, eating delicious food, and enjoying cool breezes on the upstairs terrace. Not a bad way at all to spend an evening in Beijing! Recommend it highly.

If you are an American travelling in Beijing and miss the taste of American food, Nola is the place. They have good salad, sandwish, dissert, but above all the typical food from New Orleans.

The chef is an American in his 30s. The cornbread he cooks will make you have homesick.

If you are Chinese or from somewhere else in the world and stay in Beijing but want to have a bite of American food, Nola is also the place.

Nola locates in a quiet place in the East part of the city, where embassies are. It's only 200-300 meters away from the Chang'an Street (Beijing's main street East-West), as well as from St. Regis Hotel, at Ritan road/Guanghua road area. This two-floor restaurant also has a terrace. It's a comfortable place for small business meetings, couples and solo. It's also a good place for small family/friends get-together.

Staff are kind and hard working. The decor is low-key and gives you an at-home atmosphere. WiFi is also available. Happy hours/discounts are offered. For details, pls. contact the restaurant.

I love NOLA. I am from Louisiana and this restaurant really does bring home to me! The dishes are authentic and delicious. And it's not just "in Beijing good." You could put this same restaurant right in the French Quarter and it would be a hit! The food travels well if you are thinking about delivery or the restaurant has a rooftop patio that is great on a beautiful day or night.

Atmosphere is good. The owner is really nice. The menu has a pretty good selection. It's supposedly New Orleans cuisine.

Atmosphere is charming and you should just have the appetizers. No need to have the regular meals because its a bit heavy.

Try out the garlic fries its pretty good as well.

Summary-

Need to try it out if you crave american food.
If you live at the Regis this is easy to walk to.
Right near Ri Tan park.

After a week of traditional business lunched and dinners I found myself with a rare free night by myself. Based upon previous recommendations I made my way to Nola's for something other than traditional Beijing cuisine. I wasn't looking for anything more than a good burger, cold beer and relaxing location, and did they deliver. Great efficient service, good simple fare at a reasonable price. If you can handle the heat I recommend sitting out on the terrace and watching the world go by, it certainly will give you a different impression of Beijing.
